What was the deal with conservatives and not wanting the Olympics in Chicago?

It doesn't make sense. All over the internet you can find conservatives were against the idea of having the Olympics in Chicago. Is this just another political ploy to try and get Obama to fail at everything? Because it just doesn't make sense. -CSM

YES, LET'S NOT HAVE THE OLYMPICS IN AMERICA WHERE WE CAN GET ALOT OF POSSIBLE REVENUE AND SHOW HOW MUCH OF A GOOD COUNTRY WE ARE.

Do they even have a legitamate reason not to have the Olympics here?

I thought Obama advertising Chicago was dumb.

^^Actually, some say it's President Bush's restrictive policy on tourism from all but 28 countries.

^Why was it dumb? -CSM

From what I know, they were just against him going to worry about the 2016 olympics and not focusing more on the problems at hand.

Meanwhile, from what I know, most (including myself and Bill O'Reilly)
thought it would've been good for America's image.

Sadly, even if it had succeeded, America would've probably gone bankrupt from it though.

The biggest worry was that Obama was lobbying for his hometown when he already had a full plate in front of him. He was also making a pretty big gamble that his popularity overseas would be enough to give Chicago the edge in this decision. He lost that bet.

Also, the reason major Republicans are celebrating is because they hate America whenever we have a Democratic president.

Fix'd.

Seriously, I don't know of any Republican that hates America.
They just worry about it, just disagree with the administration.

I mean really, you can't disagree with the administration at all without someone accusing you of something.

GAWD!

^^A lot of Republicans actually want Obama to fail and oppose him simply because they want to see him fail. Jim DeMint is probably the ringleader in all this; he wants to make healthcare reform Obama's "Waterloo" and opposes anything just to try and make him look bad. -CSM

Also, you didn't see Liberals cheering when Chicago failed to be picked for the Olympics when Bush was all for them getting the Olympics.

LOOK AT THOSE PEOPLE I BET THEY'RE ALL A SPECIFIC POLITICAL BELIEF GOD WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEM

...Don't mind me. I'm getting really neurotic about classifications of recent. Stupid words don't mean much, since everyone attaches their own definition to it anyway.

Also, I hate the Olympics.

Also, even if you disagree with the president, it's not right to go and pray and predict and cheer when something bad happens to the country when the opposition is in power. When Bush was in power and America went downhill I was very upset, not cheerful, even though I'm a Democrat. -CSM
