The rest of yesterday's elections

While most people aren't morons and understand that our losses yesterday were NOT a referendum on Obama (even in conservative leaning districts they know what it means to split a ticket), I have a bad feeling that Fox News and their right wing allies will spin this as a loss for Obama's policies. Living in NJ, I know Christie was elected because he wasn't Corzine, who is extraordinarilly unpopular around here, not because of Obama, who still enjoys a 58% approval rating here. So no one get the wrong spin on this. We just hate Corzine. I hate him too although I voted for him (I figured Christie was going to be worse, and now I have low expectations for him). In Virginia I read that opinions on Obama are pretty much split down the middle, with less than a percent more disapproving. Virginia also has a history of voting for the party out of power for their governor.

I'm pretty shocked NY 23 went for the Democrat rather than the crazy Glenn Beck right-winger (the day before the election he got on one knee and pledged himself to Glenn Beck's Sith Order). I would still think this district is conservative though, and Owens isn't exactly a liberal. If it were a center-right Republican it would've gone to the Republican in a landslide.

Probably the only thing that made me happy was Cincinnati voting to let the city go ahead and build a streetcar line. Transit wins again. -CSM

I'm just about ready to kill everyone on both sides.

Whenever one party wins the other party says "It's still a victory for us cause statistics and stuff."

And vice-versa

So yeah, it's severely getting on my nerves.

Ugh, elections pissed me off. In Arizona, most of the propositions to fix our dismal education system failed.

Basically, the dumbest state in the US voted to stay dumb.

^I never said it was a win. I just said it wasn't a devastating loss. -CSM

Noob.

Newt actually had this right when he potshotted the kooks that came in to push up some fringe candidate in a right-center district. Local leaders know what's better for a district than grandstanding governors and unemployed former VP candidates. They forced out the candidate that would have won 60-30-10 less than a week before the election and then wonder why they lost.

Let a disorganized party tear itself apart. These tards need to follow the tried and true doctrine of not attacking themselves and let the other side tear each other apart. It worked for the GOP since FDR died.

These idiots are crying, and screaming that it isn't fair that the ousted candidate took 5%, or that there was voter fraud, or that it's a good showing. This is a huge defeat for the fringe wing. If you go for the shot, you have to score. They failed. They lost. They sank time and money into what should have been an easy win if they left good enough alone (in addition to wasting several million from the GOP's national committee) and turned it into a narrow loss. There are more moderates out there than fringe kooks, and if they keep doing this idiotic strategy, they're going to be skunked in 2010 even though they should be making massive gains in the House.

Voting for someone based on their party just means you didn't have a clue who to vote for. It's too bad we can't keep a politician's party a secret until after the elections. :P

WIN. I'm happy that we did that too.

I just hope the economy in Ohio gets better...the last thing I want is John Kasich as my governor...
