Damn!

Why did NY have to vote down gay marriage (the senate voted it down today)? What's interesting is a lot of the corrupt Democrats sided with the Republicans to vote it down (three of the "Fair Hike Four" (senators who don't seem to care about transit riders) voted it down, including the infamous rapist senator from Jackson Heights). -CSM

Umm, is that rapist senator just likely a rapist, or actually convicted? Just saying, you know, being that convicts are barred from voting and all I'd assume that extends to being members of the senate.

You mean Monserrate? That was assault, not rape.

I think you can count the number of Mormons in NY on one hand. -CSM

It was 'assault,' not rape. Not that it's entirely better, but...yeah.

Anyway, Jon Stewart did send that up - yay for protecting traditional relationships...even if you happen to assault your significant other.

Also, Metal Mario, I want to thank you for your insightful and clever contribution.

^A good chunk of those who claim to be for "traditional marriage" don't think too highly of their significant others, nor do they treat their own marriage with the respect it deserves.

If anything trivializes the institution of marriage, it's reality shows based around it. -CSM

I think his point was that marriage isn't going to get any less sacred because gays are allowed to participate, not that gays are morally superior to everyone else when it comes to relationships.

^Actually, it was that there are things that make marriage less serious than it should be that don't involve dudes kissing, and that conservatives, let alone ANYONE, don't seem to care about those. -CSM

I hate the fact that anyone's allowed to be legally married, as far as tax is concerned. There shouldn't be privileged tax brackets for that kind of thing, this isn't the fricking 1800s anymore. Single people can afford less than married couples. As a legality concerning tax purposes, we should abolish it and drop taxes a lesser amount for all persons rather than those who are privileged enough to have married.
