What's your opinion on the monarchy? Do you think the system works and should be kept in place? Do you think it's outdated and should be replaced with a republican system? Do you not care at all? I'm just curious as to what you all think about this. All you Commonwealth members can get in on this too. |

To put it short they are tax paid figureheads who do jack **** for Britian. I mean christ, if i recall correctly, they don't even have much power anymore. |

Small scale, it would be alright. As it stands, it's not like the royals can do much anymore; they don't have a military force to enable any rulings that the people don't approve of. Leaving the running of the country to the PM and cabinet is about as safely as they can maintain their position. |

Exterminating/exiling 'em all seems to have been the best idea. Or US style, depriving them of their power. 'Course, these days, all they do is buy fancy clothes, so there isn't as much to worry about. Of the modern ones, I'd just suggest removing their ability to waste government money on themselves. | |

The British royals are more of a social leadership if anything. Think like if celebrities actually had dignity. |

Can't see getting worked up over the royals. Their power is strictly ceremonial, and, if they have ridiculous undeserved wealth, hey---lots of people do. Granted, I don't live in the UK or any of the commonwealths, so maybe I'm just ignorant. Last edited by Booyakasha; 03-08-2010 at 10:29 PM. |
