Makes enough sense for there to be some discomfort, but saying it's "like a girlfriend died" is going too far.

Oh, I'm aware, I supposedly get things plenty easy in the "white privilege" world, according to those in-the-know. And sure, this barely ever even nearly affects me. But you know what? We can't change our skin. I can't apologise for something completely outside of my control, and I should only EVER be accountable for my own actions. I'm not unsympathetic towards the extra struggles our white-dominated culture puts upon people of colour, but jesus, cut it out already. What's next? Can't hire a MAN because HE'S not the "target audience" of the magazine?
