Now it's time to wait and ~~watch as the U.S.-installed government is overthrown and replaced with a violently anti-Western one as it usually happens when we do something like this~~ hope for the best.

I still can't get over how some folks are all "We can't leave this country until it's perfect."

I mean, yeah that's a great idea, but we can't even do that in our own countries.

Yeah. Even if we invaded ourselves, we'd probably never un-invade, as even America is not 'perfect' as far as our ideals for how other countries should behave.

50K troops are still there, as well as the mercenaries we hired.

Not to mention it's not much of a close to a war when we're just flooding Afghanistan with troops instead.

The troops on the ground in Afghanistan are very much required, and every day my AO shrinks because Yank battalions take a piece the more effectively we can do our jobs.

Afghanistan is about as close to a justifiable front as the US is going to get out of this whole ridiculous "anti-terror" campaign that just amounts to a play entitled "Don't _uck With Us: at the world theater."
