If it doesn't pass, of course, possession of less than an ounce is already set to be decriminalized effective January 1st. I've got to say, I'm pretty interested in seeing what the impacts of a legal marijuana economy in the US would be. |

Amidst the garbed fundamentalist ****, like the "cut down everything to fund schools" (extreme) or "Illegalize abortion - by making it illegal to have a miscarriage!" (something even Anti-abortionist Republicans think. "FFFF - DON'T VOTE FOR THAT!!!" on) |

Just so long as it is illegal to drive while under its influence. And possibly a legal limit (in the same way as alcohol). Otherwise I'm thinking it will help the economy out in several ways. One it will be taxed therefore leading to more moneyz. Two, less people will be in prison for it and will be potential buyers for the entire market, not just weed. Three, It will be selling, so chances are the people selling will be making money and then spending it. Also, it will kill off a big part of illegal selling, and will keep the prison population down. |

Even the drug education we had didn't demonize it, they just told us what long-term use is the same way they did alcohol. (They said that one mug of beer won't kill you, and that one glass of wine has been proven to be healthy to adults, they just pointed out that it's the people who drink themselves silly or binge-drink for years that get it the worst.) |

If the proposition doesn't have pork in it, pork can't be added afterwards. However, it is fairly inevitable that the newly created legal marijuana market would result in a pro-marijuana lobby which would probably do corrupt and bad things. But I guess it is inescapable. ![]() |

This will help the non-corrupt pro-marijuana lobbiers, though. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

If taxed and sold properly I'm sure it will become a ridiculously huge moneymaker for the states... Just saying... I completely agree that there would need to be some sort of limit on it and age just like alcohol or cigarettes. We should consider looking at what the Netherlands has set up over there and doing something like that. Not sure but I think it would be a good thing in a lot of aspects. It would take away the "getting your hand caught in the cookie jar" theory. | |

You decriminalise marijuana and remove all penalties from dealing and posession. You no longer deal with massive collection of underground DEA evasion networks. Instead ... you have a massive collection of underground tax evasion networks. With far less penalties for violating the law. All you did was hand legal safety to the dealers and users. Fail. |
