That really sucks. Well, for Americans at least. Canada has its own problems right now.

I'd say 'naughty, naughty Obama', but, really, when a bill passes the Senate 72-23 and the House 250-153, vetoing it is kind of just forestalling the inevitable. That's overruling numbers right there, unless we think anybody in Congress would be changing their votes in the second round.

Why such overwhelming support from Congress if the Patriot Act is so unpopular and one of Obama's electon promises was to end it? What congressman wants to put their vote on something like that? And even if the numbers were overwhelming, Obama could have delayed it, maybe got enough people to change their minds. If he actually opposed the Patriot Act, he could have at least done that. At worst, it would over ride his veto, but he could at least avoid having the blame put on him.

Yeah, Kil, you make a good point - politically, it would only help Obama even if it were just to delay the inevitable. Then again, maybe it's just a battle he doesn't want to fight with his own party. I don't know. Either way, ****ty.

I don't have a very good opinion of Obama's presidency at this point, and this lowers it more. Sure, he has opposition that thinks he is evil incarnate, but over 3 years I can't think of much done besides pulling troops out of Iraq, passing a questionable healthcare plan, and taking out Osama bin Laden. I suppose you can say that the economy is a bit better (as far as **** compared to **** goes), but that isn't all on Obama. Well, at least lack of action is better than stupid actions, like the last guy that was president.

Dear God.

We're closer to the Revolt of the Machines than I thought.

In all seriousness, is it wrong of me to think that unless the President signs it in person, with his own hand, that it should be considered invalid?
Not that how I think has any effect on the world.

Hmm, even the people who WANTED him to sign the extension aren't happy with the autopen.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
