I object to the classification of 'Shaun of the Dead' as a Rom Zom Com. Because it would have to be a Rom Com before that would make sense, and it really isn't.

^It's not a romantic comedy. Rom Com. Also known as 'date movie', 'sh*t', or 'please somebody kill Meg Ryan already for the love of God'. With or without zombies, "Shaun of the Dead" isn't a romantic comedy.

Yes it was, it was about Shawn trying to save his girl, and get back with her. It was dubbed as a romantic comedy with Zombies.

I don't care what they billed it as; it wasn't a romantic comedy. The chick didn't get anywhere near enough screen-time for that. The 'Shaun and Liz relationship' deal was a sub-plot; the main plot of the movie, if I remember correctly, was something along the lines of 'HOLY SH*T ZOMBIES'.

I personally thought Shaun of the Dead was quite romantic. Keep in mind I have a strange sense of romance.

Also, romantic comedy does not necessarily equal chick flick.

By definition, if it's good, it's not a chick flick.
Also by definition, quality has nothing to do with whether or not it's a rom-com, just the attempts at displaying rom & com.

Shaun of the Dead is a romantic comedy, but not a chick flick.

Bah. Not seeing how the fact that the two end up together means that the movie's a romantic comedy. As well call 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' a romantic comedy, owing to the fact that Marian and Indy end up together and there are funny moments in it.
