Smash Bros Tiers

In Super Smash Bros. Melee the fighters were sorted into Teirs based on there performance at Tourneys. After major debates , several flame wars and a devided SSB comunity I think it's time to ask the question! Teirs, a Gameing Element or Tournament BS.

'Tiers', and, it's mostly tournament BS. That said, they do measure which characters have the best glitches in their favor/programming--not so much if you can beat them with skill. As I heard, if it takes thinking to use the character in a broken manner, it's not a high tier.

Tiers aren't just part of SSB; they're a part of pretty much every fighting game and most games in general. Skill still plays a much larger part because the SSB series is relatively well-balanced.

Both. Tiers are worthless for casual players, but are pretty important when it comes to tournaments.

And like TG said, Brawl tiers are total BS right now and probably won't get finalized for another few years or so.
