I thought since we had a topic about fighting game series, we could use a poll for specific tourney games. My favorite Tournament-Fighter is One Must Fall 2097. Runner ups are Killer Instinct and Marvel VS Capcom 2, but OMF has a few good reasons to be my favorite. It's based on giant-robot combat, and has a mode where you can buy new parts for your robot or entirely different robots and compete for cash prizes. Your winnings depend on how much damage you took, as the cost of repairs will be taken out of your prize money. As another level of depth in that mode, you can also pay to train your "pilot". OMF was a pretty high-quality shareware game in its day, with pleasing graphics (leaning towards a manga style for characters in story mode), a nice original soundtrack, and varied play styles. If anyone wants to download it, the full version's been made free by the creators. It's up at the fanpage www.OMF2097.com - the only catch being that you'll need Dosbox or VDMSound to run it in Windows. Your favorites, guys? |

And yeah, TMNT Tournament Fighters was pretty awesome. Well, on the SNES it was awesome. The NES not so much. | |

Combined with a lack of graphics-specific processor for the Genesis, and inferior soundtables, it's a real wonder that anyone preferred any games on it over the SNES. |

Also, it's hard to go wrong with the Genesis Sonics. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |
