Best Video Game system of all time

this is not all, but.. prolly the most popular, and some obviously dated back a while. i would say Nintendo 64: still plenty of fun and joy, yet not so high-tech that it rules your life.

Well, the VC will eventually have all major titles from past systems, which is why I don't mind the list missing SNES.

My pick is Wii, for sheer potential. But I wanna say PS3 for sheer power. =/

Aw, I wanted me SNES.

VC is alright, but it's not the same, not by a long shot. It doesn't feel like the same system, and still currently misses off a lot of the classics I still enjoy today. I can understand these classics getting missed off for reasons (Kirby Superstar because of the DS release, SMAS because they've released all the NES versions), but that doesn't mean I'm any happier about it -- In fact, it makes me pout. I like my little game list, and I still kinda want to see it. And I don't particularly want to brick my Wii with a VC emulator at the moment right now thank you very much.

Failing SNES on the list, I'm going DS. Not DSi (Haven't even got one yet), but DS, with all its' backward compatibility. It's proven quite a nifty little system so far, and admittedly when the DSi does come out I'm going to enjoy a little wealth of downloadable games. :3

I fixed your poll. Considering that the PS2 and PS3 are supposed to play their predecessors' games, I think those options are a bit absurd.

My favorite system is the NES.

So apparently I'm the only one who thinks things are getting better, not worse.

Don't get me wrong--I like my Odyssey2. But I also like FPSes, strategy/RPGs, and 'Dynasty Warriors'. And I can play a fair approximation of just about every Odyssey2 game on any of the modern consoles, owing to downloadable content and 'Mouldering Old Games That Nobody But You Remembers, Grandad--Vol.1' collections.

'Chinese Democracy' is about two-thirds really good and one-third retarded, by the way. I know, it has nothing to do with the discussion. Still needed to be said.
