Your typing method?

Touch-typing for me.

---------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: As everyone is unsure about their typing, here's how the categories break down:

Touch-typing) Hands in any position on the keyboard, using multiple fingers to type.
Hunt-and-peck) Using one or two fingers at a time to press keys.
Other) Any other style of typing that is significantly different than the previous two types.

Somewhere between the two, but closer to Touch.

I still have to look at the keyboard a lot, but I'm reasonably fast.

I'm not sure what either of those mean.

I don't type the "proper" way (index fingers on F and J, and so forth). Usually, I use my index fingers to get most of the keys. I've been using computers for three quarters of my life, so I have all the key locations memorized and don't have to look when I type.

Edit: Ahh yeah, touch typing. But like I said, I don't use the bars on the F and J keys as guides or anything.

Abnormal. I don't touch type in that I don't use a home row instead I rest my fingers on a, w, e, f, m, k, ;, and shift (and my right thumb sits below the space bar, although I don't really use it for anything at all.) Also, I do not use my right pinky finger or my right thumb at all. I rarely use my left pinky finger if at all.

I type at 90 WPM and do not look at the keyboard, either.

My left hand is where it "should" be, but my right hand is just sort of wherever it wants to be. I'll say touch-type since I get about 90 WPM.

Well, I'm fairly lenient about the term. Just as long as there's some sort of positioning.

I use the correct touch-typing method. And I type about 90 wpm.
One of my college professors saw me typing and said I should be a court stenographer or a computer programmer >_>

Funny you mention that, my hands don't bother to stay in one position. They're now hovering over...

I really don't have a method that I use. My hands are wherever, while my right hand's pinky is always on the "a" key.

Touch-type. I'm cool with the letters, but I'm not too good with the numbers and the, um... capital numbers. =/

I don't know how I normally type, well okay maybe i do now! My index fingers usually go for most of the keys but my left middle finger will occasionally pick up the slack on the left side of the board. My right side index cover almost all of the right side, and my pinky usually serves as backspace.

great, now i'm very paranoid about how i'm typing

I don't know what I really do. I guess whatever finger is closest to the key that I want to type each time I need to type a new character is just how it works for me. Yes, I figured this out as I was typing this, because I had no idea how I typed until I actually paid attention whilst typing this, as I previously expressed. I type at about 50 wpm, but that's probably mostly because I really ponder what I'm going to type before it happens. However, I am mostly touch-type, although I do look at the keyboard from time to time just in case. In case of what? I'm not sure at the moment.
Also, I tend to use the <--Backspace key more often than many other.

Drunken Master Style

I don't know.

I sometimes use both hands just hovering over my keyboard while mostly using my index fingers to ttypee and my thumbbsz foiur thewe spave bart and mu right pinky for thr shift.

Sometimes I use one hand usually right index finger around V or B, middle finger on J, and third finger on L

Neither of these are completely set though.

I can't seem to keep my hands correctly in the formal positioning, but I don't care. I also watch the key board, even if I don't have to.

Most times I can type relatively quickly, or at the least average speed (70 - 90 wpm I believe was considered average, yes?)

Ditto Ace. I type the "normal" way with normal, lower-case letters and such, but whenever I have to use the shift key (Including every time I put a mustache in a smiley, every time I capitalize the word I, etc) I use my right index finger to press Shift and my left index finger to press the key I want to be capitalized.

Also, it's peck-and-find or whatever with numbers. Somehow I just never bothered learning the positions of the numbers.

And I only use my right index finger for punctuation, such as periods and commas and what have you.

^^I might be thinking of something else then. (or perhaps my rate was alot better than I thought.) :/
BTW when I said average, I meant average after typing classes, not just average for the basic masses.

My typing speed is about 94 wpm. I don't think it's unusual for someone who is on their computer a lot typing away to have a typing speed of around 90-ish.

Touch-type-ish. I mostly only use the index, middle, & ring fingers on each hand. Right thumb typically gets the spacebar, & right pinky typically gets the Enter key. Left pinky & left thumb do almost nothing.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
