Robinson. Mercator is a close second.

Globes can't be rolled up or stored as easily, and always come on spinny things that make them hard to carry and manipulate.

Dymaxion fuh-tuh-wuh, though it unfortunately cuts right through the map. Among the ones that don't, I guess Robinson is the most visually pleasing.

I've always found the Mercator projection to be incredibly scary, though the transverse Mercator projection is hundreds of times scarier.

Why no Gall-Peters projection?

Projecting a 3-D map on a 2-D surface is dumb. Globes are where it's at.

Robinson if no globe exists, however.
