VGF Nomenclature

Apparently, my name was too long.

But I don't see anyone running around calling CaptHayfever "CH" or whatever.

What influences this?

Initials for me. The beginning of my name was pretty ambiguous if I was just Mar or something.

I think it's a combination of having an easily-dividable name along with what era of VGF you joined in. People who were mainly active after, like, '05 have a lot of shortened names, like Val, Capt, March, Glux, and so on. AS, you and I just have nice two-part names that have decently cool initials. Tub-O-Troopa wasn't TOT though because that's just dumb.

There's always the third category, "Phonetic pronunciations of your initialed name," like Ziggy and Simmle.

Lots call CaptHayfever, "Capt"... but that doesn't seem to 'roll' off my 'mind's tongue' (

) for some reason, so I admit to using "CaptHayfever". Similar reasons for me never shortening "Geneson" way back then or "Kargath" now!!

Heh, Chunky, I prefer to call you "Chunky"... because "CK" was always CodieKitty!!

And I just think I use abbreviations or truncated forms because I'm... uhhh... lazy... when it comes to typing... since I already have to make a gadzillion corrections for all the typos I make!!

I get three versions...
HotD (self explanatory)
Hjots ('Swedish' version of above)
HotDog (I'm not edible... *shrugs*)

SephirothKirby is a dumb name, seriously. I hardly use it as a handle anymore, but I signed up here with it so long ago, and I feel attached to it.

SK works just fine.

Ziggy & I, I've noticed, are the only ones who use "Hottie" as a phonetic approximation (& accurate descriptor) of HotD.
