What site is this a part of

All forums that I know of are in connection one way or another to amain site.

What site is or was I may assume VGF originally a part of.

This here is VGF Forums. It was part of VGF, a video games news site and site network (linked to NintendoLand, SMBHQ, Grand Adventures). But, then, it withered away. One day, I woke to discover only the forums remained.

NC deserves a mention, even though it was only a subsection of SMBHQ. Because it was a pretty major subsection, and referred more people to VGF than anything else I know.

As Ace said, there was once much more to VGF than just forums. It used to be a bustling network of video gaming websites, with VGF as the "main" website. Other websites were dying to be affiliates*. But eventually the other websites started to dwindle away, and so did VGF's main website, now only the forums remain, mostly because of the community among those who joined earlier on remained strong.

* = a bit of an exaggeration...

In its day, VGF was actually one of the larger video game networks and attracted dozens of affiliates. A handful of networks were noticeably bigger, but many of the ones backed by large corporations were not.
