Turning off "grinnies"

Is there a way to disable them in your individual posts, anymore? I prefer to use old-fashioned emoticons, when I actually want to convey large amounts of happiness. If the ability to turn them off in your post is not available in some form or another, could you please find a way to implement it, Shane?

It's in there. Check 'disable smilies in text' in the additional options below the post box. (not in quick reply, only in advanced mode)
:)

Arrow It was weird getting the tag to display. =\

The "" tags also work.

i.e. :) ==> :), not

Just don't use them.

If such a box ever appeared for me, I would gladly use it.

Instead, there is an "Automatically parse links in text" box, and a box enabling the use of title-finding in links posted.

Thank you, Ace, for your helpful post. :D
