Why can members see what PMs people are looking at?

This was interesting. I just opened up the "Who's Online" page out of curiosity, and I saw this block:
Quote:
Kevrosini
Viewing Private Message
Heroine of the Dragon

86.151.149.171
It just makes me wonder - why are we being shown the sender of private messages people happen to be reading? You can't see the messages, which is good - but why are we even being shown minor details of 'private' messages?

It's not like it's something we specifically enabled. I don't even think I can access the settings for Who's Online, either.

^^I actually was under the impression that only mods can see. Regardless, I kind of agree I don't understand why...

I can see it too. Umm...is that because i'm a member moderator? Anyways, i think it's there to keep an eye on people if it's only for moderators. Umm, if normal members can view it too then idk why.

Because Mafia players only ever PM other Mafia players about Mafia-related subjects? Besides, every gift you receive comes with a PM from the sender. There's no way of telling what the PM is about.

That has been viewable since the change-over, Kargath!!

That Guy.... this is the WHOLE reason why I have insisted any of my Masons go 'invisible' whenever we've played Mafia games. They can change back to visible-mode once the game is done. And, it's also how the players 'stalk' each other... seeing who's online and what threads they're looking at... or what PMs they're viewing. Every Mafia player still has the choice to go 'invisible' if they want regardless of their alignment!!

There's not much incentive to do so on a competitive level...everyone else is a bit behind.
