Reclaim vertical space

Y'know, it seems kinda stupid that even with a monitor as big as mine only 2-3 posts ever fit on screen at once.
One-line quips should not take up the same space as a post in PPR.

I propose VGF reclaims some vertical space by culling items from the left-hand bar.
Pretty much all of that stuff can be seen on people's profile pages anyway. It doesn't need to be seen daily.
Stuff that should be culled includes:

Thanks Count
Number of Points etc
2-3 lines of gifts
Blog Entries
Join Date
One avatar per admin

Avatars should probably have a dimension cap too. Stuff as big as Val's avvy is unnecessary.

But then again, the size helps ensure that you will not accidentally miss a part of the conversation, and end up posting something that would make a fool out of you...

I agree with moving all of those away. Post count isn't very useful either; when you actually need to know how many posts someone has (if ever; it should rarely be important) you can check their profile. A lot of people would probably disagree with this, though - post count seems to confer a sort of status in some people's minds, and its presence is fairly standard for forums.

I would agree, just as I did when I demanded the removal of those useless RPG stats.

All VGF's sidebar needs is a post count and location and join date indicator, like in the old days.

Bigger avatars are fine. In fact, more space would be afforded for them with the other stuff removed.

The vbPlaza info really doesn't need to be there. It's also worth pointing out that those of us with no blog posts don't have a blog-post-count in the way. Maybe the Thanks counts could go, too.

I'd say, get rid of the vbPlaza info. Maybe lower the amount of gifts displayed to two rows of five instead of four.

That should be plenty.

Donate should be moved to the line where 'Report post' and 'is the user online' is, so it doesn't add to the vertical space.
