If SD or HotD has access to the database, a simple "UPDATE xxx WHERE" statement would be able to easily reassign all the topics in one forum to another.

Yeah, you only use database access if you're slumming it with a less-than-fully-featured forum package.

Or have one heck of a data issue.

Well it wouldn't be called either for starters. Most likely either just "Science-Fiction Forum", or "~~Syfy~~Sci-Fi Forum".

You can ignore whatever topics you like. Doesn't stop anyone else.

yeah. misc and viggif main merged once, at least in function.
