Discontinue the RFG Forum increasing post count

While it was nice for a while, it seems if unmitigated it'll just cause larger and larger leaps in postcount, based upon contentless posts alone.

Yes, I know, this effects me. But that's why I say discontinue--since VGF has had a history of leaving alone past things which increased post count but don't exist for everyone/today (like Shane's mega post increase, Kirbyking's cheating, etc.)

It would help promote useful posting, while not drastically shifting all the post counts around like some giant explosion.

There was a silly post here mocking that text style, but I realized the true thing.

Sorry for harming your feelings... er... TG? RCM? I don't know what your name is, but I only meant it as a suggestion. Clearly, by the large bulk of contentless posts I have made, you can see I harbor no real anger over their existence, otherwise I should rightfully spear myself.

Rather it is an honest suggestion, which somehow harmed you in ways beyond my ken and made you feel like you had to protect yourself from it. If you must, relentlessly mock me, but know that I will just sit and take it until you get bored. XP

I think the idea is more that if we eliminate rank boosting in RFGF (where most of the spammiest threads are), it'd persuade people to make more useful posts or discussion in other forums.

I'd go for it.

That's going about it the wrong way. People need an incentive to post in other forums. Not an incentive not to post in the RFG forum.

It's a pointless suggestion, not least because no one cares if people have a higher postcount. They don't get anything special for having 10,000 posts, or 20,000 posts, or any other number (l33t access is already a lot lower). The RFG is somewhat intended for people who are happy to just ramble incoherently, and I, for one, am glad that they have a place that keeps it out of the regular forums.

Hm, well. Didn't know it was like that on purpose. (Back in the day, it just seemed unstoppable because TPAM was in the Misc forum, and thus, such a suggestion would be practically impossible to implement.)

I will say, this sort of served a dual purpose--I was also wondering what limit, if any, there was in your definition of 'megaposting.' It seems if there is one, it would be against gibberish in the non-RFG forums.

So, that's all I needed to know, thanks.

I'd just like to say that I find it quite funny that no one is talking about how there are, on occasion, actual Forum Games that don't involve spamming, that occur in RFG...

Or you could just buy a custom avatar. I mean, how much do you value your time? Assuming you slide in the flood limit at one post a minute, it would take you about three hours to post ten thousand posts. Is your time worth less than two dollars an hour?
