Well, I was thinking days ago, and came up with these probably controversial and unholy ideas.

Fuse the SMBHQ and NC forums into the Mario forum. NC as a website is good as dead, and having what is essentially 2 Mario Forums seems...redundant. Future news about NC and SMBHQ could be posted in this 'Chimario' forum.
SSB Forum moved to under "Nintendo Forums". Makes sense to me.
Comics/Spriting Forum moves under "Other Entertainment", as a sub-forum of Art/Lit or remains it's own forum. Or it could fuse with Art/Lit. I think a similar or identical idea was thought about earlier, but...

So, at the end of the day it'd be something like:

Nintendo Forum
----
Nintendo General
Mario Forum (with SMBHQ and NC stuff moved into it) (also Mario should be at the near-top, it being at the bottom under the other series MAKES ME FEEL SO UNEASY MAN)
Zelda Forum
Pokemon Forum
Metroid Forum
Retro Forum
SSB Forum

Other Entertainment
----
Art/Lit/Comics/Spriting Forum

As for SMBHQ and NC, the secret is that I had ages ago wanted the SMBHQ forum to be, guess what, a Mario forum. Sean Kelly insisted it only be about SMBHQ. So they created the Mario forum, which I was mod of, until the infamous incident where I chewed Shane's ear off about being a greedy money-hungry guy. (While my opinion on that remains the same, today I am wise enough to know he doesn't care and isn't going to change his mind on that, and so it is better to just let it be and keep it to myself.)

But the answer remained the same. Sean was master of the SMBHQ's forum fate. If he objects to it being changed, it probably never will be. As for the NC forum, well, that's up to Jay, but I get the feeling he might be cool with it.

Comics/Spriting could just be moved alongside the other art forums. Maybe it'll die out entirely but until recently it seemed to be rather full of spriters, so I wouldn't merge it into anything just yet.

My thoughts on the SMBHQ section:

-If the SMBHQ and NC forums are kept alive, make the latter a sub-forum to the former.
-The Comics/Spriting forum can be a sub-forum either to Art/Lit or SMBHQ.
-The SSB forum should be a sub-forum to the Nintendo forum, or at least moved to said section.

So... yeah, sub-forums.

In my opinion, there is no real use to keeping the NC/SMBHQ forums open. The last attempt to generate activity in the NC forum died off the minute constant attention was taken away from it, while SMBHQ will no longer be updated, rendering it an empty forum.

The sprite one may yet have life on its own, I'd give it a chance to be itself for a while without the SMBHQ/NC forums distracting from it before I'd merge it anywhere.

Even when you joined, it was winding down. To truly enjoy it, you'd need a time machine and go back in time with it to 2003 or earlier.
