I've never actually seen Rent, but I've heard mixed reviews. My sister likes it, my brother hates it (And my brother loves musicals). I need to see it for myself.

It wasn't the best musical adaptation for a film (IMO, that's Chicago), but it certainly was good in its own right. I've always loved the music for that show, and this was a very decent adaptation. I laughed, I cried, and I enjoyed myself. I recommend it (although, maybe don't watch it with your parents... if you have extremely conservative parents like mine, they might not like some of the content...).

I usually am a HUGE fan of musicals, but I still haven't gotten around to watching Rent. I bought The Phantom of the Opera, so I gotta watch that first.

Phantom is okay, not my fav. I like RENT more (and Chicago most). It took me a while to see RENT too... I watched it for the first time tonight.

Actually, I haven't seen that one. I forgot about it... my mom saw it, but she didn't think it was appropriate for me, so I never got the chance. Maybe I'll rent that one next (omfg lol pun).

I like the director's style for Moulin Rouge...Baz Lurhman does it with all his movies; there's like this wild, manic energy one moment, and then everything gets very dark and serious the next. I dunno, it works for me.
