Unhappy My mom's sick

...with cancer. She's had it since 2002, and although it keeps disappearing, it reappears not long after somewhere else. It's moved from her ovaries to her liver, and now it's near one of her lungs. All throughout this thing I've been pretty optimistic, not worrying that she might die or anything. But now I'm seriously feeling anxious. Why the f*ck can't she just get better so this crap will be over with? She's already gone through enough sh*t, I don't understand why she needs any more.

I'm so sorry, Val.

Your mother does not deserve cancer. No one does. I don't know why this kind of crap happens, but it does. I hate this world so much. So much disease, crime, war, at times I wonder why the world doesn't just wither and die.

I'm really sorry Val. I hope your mom does get better.

It sounds very serious, but I think it's important to remember that, as in all things, this too will pass.

Hey,
I'm new on this board but not new when it comes to cancer, tumors, losses.
I've had a lot of friends loose their premature children, have had cancer or brian tumor, or their parents have died from cancer.
Personally, I'm trying to get my mom to quit smoking, I just can't imagine her going through cancer.
I'm terribly sorry about your mom, but if she keeps beating it and re-beating it. That doesn't matter that she won't beat it again. She'll pull it through, trust me.

/Rob

Oh, I'm sorry, Val. Cancer is a tough thing to understand. It effects so many people, and I'm sorry one of the people had to be you. *hugs*

Wow... just hearing about the shaving of the head brings back so many bad memories...

I really hope she pulls through, Val.

Yeah, I know a few people who had to shave their heads and get wigs from my mom's salon. It's so traumatizing.

I pray she keeps her strength so she can pull through.

It's things like this that make me so frustrated! Nobody wants cancer, nobody wants other people to have cancer, cancer is a disease that destroys people from the inside out. This is what frustrates me: People who smoke are basically giving themselves cancer! BOTH of my grandparents on my father's side succumbed to lung cancer, they both were far too late when they discovered it. Just be thankful that the doctors caught your mom's cancer early, now she has a fighting chance of beating it... again.

She's doing better. She's certainly up and about, but she still has to get shots about fifteen days a month.
