What I hate about parents...

Well, today I went to a pizza place to eat a nice lunch with my dad. This mom walks in with these two freshmen that I know from my bus. As soon as they walk in, this mom orders the man behind the counter to put veggie pizzas and hawaiian pizzas on the buffet. She ordered about 5 pizzas total. That ticked off my dad and I because she pretty much ordered for everyone these crappy pizzas.

That wasn't all. She kept going on and on about how these kids are going to walk home and how they should jog to burn off all this pizza and cheesesticks. This mom made sure that they ordered a salad and broccoli so they could be healthy. She asked them if they wanted to go in the hot tub afterwords to swim laps to burn off calories.

There was more, but to be short, she was annoying us with her constant babying and nagging. Which brings me to the point I'm trying to make by making this topic. I wish some parents would learn that at a certain age it's time to give your children some leaniage. Let them be more independent. They know how to make smart decisions if the parents would just let them. If you've trained them in the correct way, they'll follow it! No need for pushing.

One of my best friend's parents do this. We can't do anything with him because his mom is so strict. She won't let him stay out past a certain time, won't let him hang with his friends if she hasn't gotten to know them herself, won't let him do ANYTHING. Kids like this tend to rebel when they're older because they've been so sheltered as kids. It's just asking your kid to be distant and afraid and secretive.

Okay, so that's my rant about parents. Sorry, I just had to say it. These parents bug me so much.

I think most parents are really looking out for their children. It's tragicomedic, really, that their actions are done with the best of intentions.

How does that old saying go again? Oh, yeah, "The path to hell is paved with the best of intentions."

They mean good. However, they're still a pain. It's the way all parents are.

^ I can believe it.

Don't get me wrong, I know these parents want what's best for their kids, too bad they're wrong. What's best for their kids is to show them how to live and succeed on their own. I truly feel sorry for these families.

I didn't know you could make orders for the buffet. Cool.

For 3 people? Dang, it's her own freakin' fault if her kids don't eat right. For that matter, if you're going to be as strict on nutrition as that, why even go to a pizza place? (And since when can you just order "broccoli" at any restaurant?)

Why? Did she think anyone else in the restaurant cared?

Did she actually say "swim laps" in the hot tub? Wow, what an idiot.

That's for a different reason, though; if they don't, they'll die.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I've always thought it was ironic that the parents that want what's best for their kids the most are the most incapable of doing such.

No, you can't make orders at a buffet. If you want to make orders, then call the pizza place for a delivery.

Trust me, all of what you just said, my dad and I made jokes about in the car. And yes, she actually did tell her son and his friend to swim laps around the hot tub and no, she wasn't kidding. Although, her son made a smartass comment and she agreed with him. That part was funny.

I bet somebody slipped her some of those good health magazines. If you want your problems to go away, just hide a copy of "Mein Kampf" in the most impossible place to find anything in your house and watch the show.

Stupid and illogical are two different but basically entwined things, wait are we not discussing this in another topic as well?
