Small yet cute birthday ideas for a girl

So there's this girl (wow, cliché) who I'm going to prom with on Saturday. We both like each other, yet (unbeknownst to her) I'm pretty sure I don't ever want to date her, partly because we're both seniors and going very seperate ways after High School. Anyway, her birthday is May 1st, and I still feel sorta obligated to get her something. Willing to spend up to $20-25ish I suppose. Just something nice that definitely doesn't suggest anything. I know it should be personal to her somewhat and none of you know her, but maybe if you all post examples of things you've given/received it'd get me thinking. Thanks.

ACtually, I'm in the same perdicament, except she's a sophomore, and her birthday IS prom night (May 12th).

Well, I'm takin her to dinner, not a huge fancy place, but not a little common place you know? That's what I'd do, it'd be about $35ish if you find a nice place, I couldn't think of an item though.

Well we're going out to dinner (for prom) already, and I wouldn't really have the time to take her out again on her birthday because of tennis. :/

I am not sure what to do in your case, but when I started going out with a particular girl, I found out from a friend of her's that her favorite thing is a box of those Cordial Cherry things (well, and ferrets, but that's a bit much to get on short notice).

They only sell ther where were at during Valentine's Day, so a few days before Prom, I managed to make an excuse to get away and drove seventy miles to the nearest actual city to pick her up a few boxes (one box and then a backup for a later date).

If you don't want it to suggest anything bar friendship, then maybe just a book about friends... one of those ones with all the cute thoughts in it, illustrated by photos of animals...

I hope you find something, anyways!!
