The Rules Parents Give You

In short, the rules your parents force you to live by as long as you live with them. This topic could be put in the things that suck forum, but since this forum is about parents I guess it should go here. Just tell your opinion on the rules your parents give you.

Pretty much every rule my parents set out was implicit and never needed to be enforced. This is because I am a very boring person, that most of those things I don't want to do anyways, and that I cover my tracks.

No Grades below a "C". You may only have a "C" if you have an "A" to cancel it out, because you are not your all-AP-straight-A-4.1-GPA-Sister.

No drugs. No sex. No MySpace.

Just follow those rules if your parents are going all Mussolini/Hitler on you as a kid and they'll give you breathing room.

1) Stay in school & work hard.
2) No drugs.
3) Don't start fights.
4) Listen when we tell you things & show some respect.
5) Your little brother is not a toy.
6) Don't get arrested.
7) You have to find your own college fund.

These were all implied moreso than formally listed (except the last one). I got a full scholarship, so none of those were particularly difficult.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

1. No Internet after midnight (From the time of this post you can see how much that rule gets obeyed)
2. No TV/Video games unless room is at least slightly clean
3. Don't fight with brothers (I don't anyway, they're twice my size)
4. (for the first half of my life) No Simpsons. Ever.
5. No booze, drugs, or tobacco
6. Stay in school

My internet gets shut off at 8.

It (usually) comes back on at Midnight, but lately it hasn't.

Not much else in the way of rules. I'm alone during the days of summer.

I had it pretty easy.

That's the only one that was ever made really clear, but it was broad enough to cover a lot of bases.

I think it was a good rule.

I was allowed to drink when I was 16, as long it was at home, and my keys were taken away for me for the night.

My parents were really lax, but they told me all what happens if I do stupid/bad things. I never got in trouble once. I was a pretty good kid. =\
