ooo... ow.
Well, think about it this way:

Your best friend hitting on a girl you want to go out with doesnt necessarily mean that she likes him and choose him over you. Besides, knowing me, Id probably not pick an overzealous guy who incessantly hits one me. Sorta scary you know.
Dont you worry. Be nice to her, get her to be your friend. Talk to her. Just dont overdo it on the flirting part, if you get what I mean.
Im sure youre a nice kid. Go for it.
Just remember that a relationship without the basis of friendship is like a mansion built upon sand.

Just remember that, and all will be okay.
Dont overdo it. Be nice. Be gentle. Be kind.

It's a matter of making the first move. If you don't do it now, you can regret it for a long time later.

Actually, my motto is not knowing is worse than knowing that it wouldn't work out. In other words, even if you get rejected, it's better than not knowing what could have happened.

Knowing that a relationship wont work is pretty bad, Sweet.
Believe me. I have first hand experience.
Its enough to make one suicidal.
Rejection is even worse.

Sometimes its better not knowing what could have happened. But, it all just depends on the situation at hand, really.

Just because you want to go out with her means no one else is allowed to try? I know it's hurtful for a friend to get in on your interest, by if he's interested too and she's not actually your girlfriend or anything, then he does have the right. I'm sorry to hear you're upset, but you still have a chance with the girl, just be her friend and let her know you'd like to hang out with her, maybe go on a friendly date.

Good luck with both your friendship and with the lady in question.

Lady Bane writes sentences in poetry form. It's actually rather interesting.

Now that my idioteque (lol radiohead) banter is out of the way, all I can say is, hey, you should have moved first. Let it be a lesson to you.

Never let a woman come between you and a friend. It isn't nice.

If you wanted her so bad, you woulda made the first move, plus, there's plenty of over girls out there. I know first-hand.

I had a girlfriend for a long time (Bout... 4ish years?), we loved eachother, we got out, we had a laugh, and eventually we even got sexual, and I thought she was the one, and it turns out she cheated on me, and left me. I thought that was the end of the world. Seriously.

I had another girlfriend, about a month later, she left me in two weeks, cause I was too weird.

5 weeks later, another girl, she thought I was a cowered cause I didn't wanna smoke weed, left me.

Trust me dude, theres alot more girls out there than you think, just cause you lost one, doesn't mean you lost them all. You just gotta make the first move.

I can't say that I've ever had a problem, with one of my friends hitting on a girl that I liked. We normal worked it out if we liked the same girl, one of us would back-off. So, I'm going to go with Lady Bane on this one.

It's a loyalty thing. If you're gonna try to get with a girl that your friend is trying to get with, you should at least have the courtesy to let him know he has competition. For this discrepancy, you should definitely break his thumbs.

Of course, there is always such thing as friendly flirting that really means nothing.
