| Veteran Member Join Date: Jul 2001 Location: Connecticut Posts: 10,519 Thanks: 7 Thanked 30 Times in 22 Posts | Updating on my personal life Alright so here's the deal... I knew this girl in Sophomore year. Really cute and everything. We used to talk online and in classes sometimes. I got her number, but we never actually ended up talking on the phone, just on IM and sometimes in study hall. Then last year same girl was in my math class. We talked occasionally, and I got her number again cause I got a new phone, never called her though, and we would talk online sometimes and whatever. Now it's my senior year. Same girl sits next to me in English. Sometimes we talk/flirt/other things, and some days we dont talk at all. She smiles at me a lot, and often I THINK(I use this term loosely cause I've been known to take signals wrong) I've caught her looking at me a few times just randomly. I've also talked to her a few times offline and everything. A few other notable things were that one day the girl who this is about and the girl that sits in front of me were talking about prom. The girl who I think is cute was saying that she doesn't want to go to prom with her old boyfriend, and is unsure about who she's going to go with now. Another thing is one day we had a substitute so we were passing around a sign in sheet for who is here so the teacher would know who was absent. We were passing them up and down the aisles. The cute girl moved her seat in front of the girl who sits in front of me because we had a sub and she wanted to talk to some of the other girls. I get the sign in sheet and notice there is a space between the cute girl and the girl in front of me. I ask the girl in front of me(her friend) why she left a space instead of filling it right in. At first she said she didnt see the space. And then she goes "Well I noticed the attraction between you and Kara(the girl), and I thought you two should be close to each other." Now taking all of this into account, do you think I'm just looking too much into this or these are really signs? I really want to take the girl to prom, but am fairly scared of being rejected. Not to mention I never see her outside of english class, though I still do have her number. Its been a while, I'd like vgf's advice. |

The fact that we dont talk everyday though is kind of like something I'm not used to. Normally I wouldnt even hesistate to ask, but this girl just makes me think twice about everything. Good looks man. |

Take the initiative and go for it. If you fail, then don't dwell on the past, contemplate how to succeed next time. Hmm, I'm trying to sound smart, anyway: Go on, take the woman and run! |

If you don't take this chance now, you'll hate yourself for the rest of your life. She sounds perfect for you, man! It's obvious she likes you too. Just ask her out to something after school, or over to your house, or to a dance or something. You'll never get a chance like this again, mate. If you don't take it, I'll never forgive you. ![]() |

Listen man, I feared being rejected PLENTY of times, hell, I'm still somewhat shy with asking women out. The thing is though, if she rejects me, I know that she's the one missing out not me. You just have to have the confidence in yourself that you can be the man that a woman wants, the gentleman you know? You just have to be you, and if they can't deal with that, they aren't the one for you. Basically: You better take her ass to prom. | |

I get that feeling alot. Thing is, you just have to go for it, if she isn't interested, you have two choices: 1. Make her interested 2. Move on |

It doesn't have to be a huge thing, if you're uncertain of the signs. Good luck, Brandon! |

| Veteran Member Join Date: Jul 2001 Location: Connecticut Posts: 10,519 Thanks: 7 Thanked 30 Times in 22 Posts | UPDATE: So today I'm talking about her asking about certain things. Finally I get to prom and ask her what she's doing. She says she's going with another guy so I blow it off. But maybe it was for the best you know? I asked her if she wanted to chill though, and she said she's down for it, and told me to call her. So I'm probably gonna chill with her next weekend cause I'm goin to Boston this weekend. I'm gonna go to prom with this other girl who is a junior who has had a thing for me. I've chilled with her a few times and she's mad cool. So either way I'll have a good time. |

That sucks. But hey, I like your attitude, mate. Who knows? Maybe she's just going to the dance to be there. Don't give up on her just yet. ![]() |
