She said "I don't know" and I told her to think about it. I thought that it could be a sign of rejection, but I had hope. Later, she sent me an IM. " if you mean something like girlfriend........ then first of all i dont like you in that way, sorry.. and second of all im moving so yea but if you want to do something later i dont want it to be one on one.." I don't think it's the rejection that's making me feel bad as much as it was the fact that she had to send me an IM to tell me no. |

You asked her, and that's what important. And if she had to respond through IM, then she isn't worth the trouble. |

She just as easily could have said something like "Oh I'm going to be busy a lot because I'm moving soon, sorry" without mentioning that she doesn't like you. |

Like SML said, take it and learn from it. You'll be okay, just stay cheerful. If you need to talk, you know that my door is always open for you. |

I think it's good that you have the precise answer to your question and know not to proceed any further. However, it does give off the vibe that she dislikes you as well and doesn't want to be bothered with you anymore (IMO at least). I would say just leave things as they are and just move on. At least she'll be out of your hair after she moves. |

(I still wanted to be friends) But she's bee avoiding me. And I'm pretty sure that she's now got a thing with the jackass from my Venting Forum topics (who has told me on more than one occasion, one being last Thursday, that he is not interested in her). But I saw them hug each other every five minutes, and according to three people, they were cuddling together during a trip to Chicago on Friday. I have since been uninvited to band get-together on Saturday for being too awkward, and do not plan to go to end of school pool party. |

I dont exactly know what the situation is, but small talk with a little bit of humor is always the way to go. Go up to her and start talking with her, mix in some of the type of sarcastic humor you use on here, then move it up to AIM/Phone, then from there you can ask her out. There's basically a bunch of steps to it. |

In any case it's usually not a good idea to just run up and go "o hai, let's date". I mean for some flirting right off the bat works, for others, establishing some kind of acquaintance or relationship is the best step. I tend to not become best of friends with girls I want to date because it could become awkward. I actually just started taking a relationship with a friend to the next level before it became too, well, casual I guess. It depends on what works for you, and only you know what works for you. Some can take a rejection and move on to the next person immediately, some take a little time. There's nothing wrong with it. |

Well, at any rate, this is why I've been completely girl-free for 16 years: because that way I never get rejected. Sure, it gets lonely here by myself in the man-brain, sort of wishing a girl would come along, but I have nerdism to keep me happy. And music. Music is my bitch. I **** music. ...I'm not helping, am I? Okay, so real advice time. I feel for you, man. After all, this type of event is crushing. The best thing to do is never let it get you down. IF she's sleazy enough to cozy up to a ****ing loser like the prick you've been describing, no way she's right for you. Keep looking. Find that hidden treasure with the sweet personality as opposed to the overbearing shebeast with the model body. |

But if that girl is going to like that loser that you talked about instead of you, then she can't be right. I think that you should get to know a girl before you ask her out, so you can know if she has the right personality and stuff. But I'm really sorry, man. If you ever wanna talk, then it's okay with me- 1-up |

I'm not feeling really bad about this anymore, and I'm realizing that she's been a pretty big bitch as of late. ^^ Oh God, just imagine me and (insert name of her oldest sister), we would be the weirdest couple ever. (And for the record, we were friends for about two years. Not best friends, but just friends.) |

If that signature of yours is anything to go by, you just need to show them your dancing skills, and they'll fall all over you. Anytime an awkward lull in conversation is starting to set in, I bust out a headspin. Works every time. |
