I know her through school, and I knew I liked her the day I walked into the sixth grade. I am too chicken to ask her anything or even talk to her; I just freeze up. I almost know she hates me; I used to be very annoying until I have received my fair share of teasing for this. There was this one girl who blurted it out to the whole 30-person math class which had the girl I like in it. Because of that, one of my classmates sent me a fake candy-gram on Valentine's day that said "From Anna Anderson" "Will you go out with me?" When I found out who it was I WAS PISSED because I had sent a candy-gram to her, too, a real one. SOMETIMES I WANT TO SOMEHOW GET MY HANDS ON A MACHINE GUN- All RAEG aside, I'm glad you read this. I needed a good vent (which IS in the right forum). |

She probably doesn't feel anything extreme like that. Though it's no fun having other people know how you feel. |

First things first... be friends. I know that's hard when you say you "freeze up" around her so let's take this in tiny steps... SMILE at her... smile at EVERYONE... but save those cute and special smiles for her. People are attracted to others who smile a lot. When you feel comfortable smiling at her, then it's time to step up a rung; just say "hi" as you pass by. Just a casual hi. Then after that, add, "how ya doin'"? (Or what ever greeting you say to your usual friends that aren't close yet?) Keep adding to this... until you find yourself chatting with her and asking about her interests and such!!! And, good luck. It's going to take time if you're shy but it'll be worthwhile in the long run!! And have fun smiling!! *gives Typhlame marshmallows* ![]() |

Place Where All the Guys Still Make Fun of Other Guys When They Like a Girl Because Girls are Gross Or Some **** Like That That You Remember Also Happening in Second Grade High? Those guys are *******s, don't let it get to you. I'm pretty positive she doesn't hate you. She probably feels just a little bit weird knowing that you like her. There are tons of girls like that. If you recall when I was rejected, the girl and I didn't talk at all for weeks. Now we're friends again and occasionally message each other on Facebook. We also planned on meeting up with each other again this weekend, but plans changed. Give it a month or two, you guys should be fine then. Also, with telling her personally, it takes time to get past that shyness. Trust me. I was going to ask that girl out two weeks before I actually did, and even when I did, I still stumbled on words, my legs were shaking, and I was getting a stomach ache. I still can't even bring myself to even talk to a cute girl that's on my bus, but I assure you, it will get easier to talk to her as you get older. |

Most people are all about reactions, and a lot more need the ego boost from being 'more popular' and 'tougher'. Knowing they're in control of your emotional state (i.e. knowing who you have a teenage crush on) makes it worse. So it's really rather normal, you just have to develop thicker skin to ignore the brunt of it. And to the situation, similar **** happened to me when I was 13. So it's a very common but difficult situation. Just live on, it's all you can do. It's, sadly, rather doubtful you'll win the girl (sorry, but that's typically how it goes), and unless she's absolutely perfect for you (and, no offense, but at your age it's normal to go after girls who aren't the wisest choice), I'd probably just let it go. Saves a lot of trouble. But hey. Good luck regardless. |

Since you'll be with the same people, but in an environment with a grade-to-grade hierarchy, it's usually worse. Seniors are typically jerks, but sometimes you get exceptions. Watch out for the other two grades as well, they tend to use 'fresh meat' as a venting post for their own personal stress. The more mature (or snooty) ones will usually ignore you/talk about you behind your back. Neither are particularly harmful unless you get self-conscious over such things, and I personally find it best to just not do so. Usually, people say it's the worst part of their life, but that's an exaggeration. Life will always have aggressors, you just have to learn to deal with it. Granted, in high school, those aggressors are much more immature... But, eh. |

Oh, in the defense of Seniors, freshmen ARE just generally annoying, simply because they try too hard sometimes to give off an intended personality, whatever that may be. ![]() Yeah that wasn't directed to me, oh well. | |

It wears off. To Ty: Don't make noises. It's annoying, it puts people off, and most people only do it because it's either habitual or they want attention. If it's the first, break the habit. If it's the latter, just stop. ![]() As to Speed, yeah, people tend to use things like that to insult misfits. Let it roll off of you, it means you're either too smart or too weird, and either way, it's better than merely being something you aren't to fit in. |
