No WONDER a lot of people marry so young!

This essay on Conservapedia is very offensive not just to GLBT people, but also to single people like me who are 23 and out in the workforce and single and struggling to get a girlfriend, they're saying we're worthless unless we're married. I know it's Conservapedia (which is of course never to be trusted), but this hit me right where it hurt the most: by saying that it's God's intention for me to "grow up and get married" and that love is meaningless otherwise. As someone who needs to feel loved, it's upsetting. I know you guys are sick of my rants, but this is just one of those times I feel in need of help. -CSM

I'll just go off on a list of things that are wrong with this:

1. The author may not realize this, but most homosexuals want to get married. They're only in violation of "God's intentions" because the idiots that write these things won't let them get married.

2. Wouldn't this mean that a huge amount of people in the church are actually against God because they have vowed not to get married?

3. If you let them get married, how does that still have nothing to do with marriage? How is something unrelated to itself?

4. Eating has nothing to do with marriage, either. Looks like we'll all just have to starve to death. Oh, and we can't write essays, either. They aren't related to marriage.

5. This essay also has nothing to do with helping the poor, which was mentioned by one important figure or another in essentially every other line in the Bible. Funny how he's focusing on homosexuality, which I believe was vaguely mentioned about once.

In short, this article was written by an idiot. What they say has no affect on your value as a person whatsoever.

Today commemorates the Attack on Pearl Harbor, and Conservapedia pauses to remember the victims. Barack Obama, displaying how little he knows or cares about American history, erroneously described it as "the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor."

I believe St. Paul never got married, or felt the need to do as such.

I guess spreading the Word all over the Roman world wasn't enough. He didn't follow God's intention. We should stop reading the books of the Bible that involve him, he's an *******.

You shouldn't be doing that, anyway. Reading the Bible also has nothing to do with marriage, and is therefore a sin.

That could easily pass as someone attempting to troll on the internet. In fact, I'll just go ahead and think Conservapedia as a massive trolling effort.

^ That is possibly the greatest thing ever said about the site. I give you a million thanks.

CSM, don't stress about what the stupid page has to say. Early marriage is more uncommon than most people think, and marriage in general is actually losing popularity with people every day. *shrug* Don't let something you know is wrong hurt you. You already understand that your life and your feelings are significant. Marriage is an option to explore in life when you're ready for it; not because you're a certain age.

The guy in charge is actually the son of someone who thinks married women don't need consent to have sex and think children shouldn't have any self-esteem and women who have abusive husbands shouldn't leave them. -CSM

Well, it's great he thinks that, but he can't do anything about people who don't care what they think, like me.

I'm currently unable to access the site, but I'm willing to bet Conservapedia hates Catholics, too.

Letting people get your goat empowers them. Have the courage of your convictions not to take some ignoramus' moronic scribblings as an ad hominem attack. That's like feeling personally offended when a monkey at the zoo throws its crap at you.

That's not an essay.

That's four of five sentences.

THAT'S A PARAGRAPH.

I don't hear it too often or anything, but it seems like a more popular belief that it's wrong to marry young. Of course, a lot of that comes from older people who've failed in their attempted relationships and I have nothing in common with, so I take it with a truckload of salt.

I actually read RationalWiki quite a bit, mainly their watchdog portion.

Unfortunately, I'll soon be going to a part of the country (Utah) where rushing into marriage is considered something very important to do. -CSM
