Exclamation Dating in the sixth grade (i dont do it, dont worry! and i dont want to.)

So its like this: most everyone in the sixth grade is all about dating. Some kids even.... even... eww...kiss. (lol) so, its like, they're friggin 11 and 12. and they get in fights and 'cheat' on eachother. Who else thinks that this is particularly OUTRAGOUS?

If they're mature enough (which they usually aren't), I see no problem. Most kids start experiencing relationships in middle school, anyways.

Everyone has at least one of those silly middle school relationships in which you don't actually do anything.

I got that out of the way in Kindergarten. But after that I didn't concern myself with dating until 8th grade or so.

I had a random fling in pre-school, in which this girl and I would hide under one of the tables a few times.

I also remember my fascination with play-doh. Mmm.

I totally had a pre-school, kindergarten thing too. We played "Power Rangers" - he was the green one, and I was the pink one (because the only other girl who liked the PR was Asian, so we automatically made her the Yellow Ranger...)

Though, I have to say the middle school relationships are really funny, and a worthwhile (albeit highly optional) experience. In most cases, you don't do anything, and everyone spends all day speculating as to whether or not you'll hold his/her hand at recess. Fun times. I remember one time in particular, my friend purposely tried to get a rise out of me by "picking on" my "girlfriend" after school. After a few seconds of obligatory and half-assed machismo on my part, I noticed my mom pulling up to the curb and promply walked over to the car, pretending that I wasn't a part of the...pretend scuffle. Good times.

Looks like you're the only one, man, We're all adjusted to that sort of behaviour, and it's pretty much the norm.

Nothing wrong with playing Power Rangers, ZG. I did too, when my best male-friend was obsessing over them. XD

6th graders: They start meaningless relationships, talk **** to everyone, and smoke in the bathrooms.

God, I'm so glad I'm homeschooled.

I had a "girlfriend" once in Kindergarten. She picked me as her partner to go with on the class field trip to the zoo.

She died in a car accident in 2007.

After working in a mental hospital, I can only see very young relationships as means of escape from abusive, restrictive, or otherwise inadequate households, where the kid attempts to replace the spot that would normally be held by family with a broken image of romance that is portrayed very loosely and unrealistic by today's media.

It seems that kids have downgraded relationships..
During my 6th grade year, almost everyone had had sex at least once.
And had had at least 2 tries of some type of tobbacco.
I would think it was just talk, but due to the things i saw at school,i've com to the conclusion that it wasn't.

^50 percent of all adults have had their first sexual experience at or before 13 years old. It's not that surprising.

Learned this in Psychology.
