"I-Flirts" or whatever the hell they're called.

Thursday at school, the teachers gave us a questionare called 'I-Flirts'. They're supposed to find you a date for Valentine's Day.
Anyone else get some stupid garbage like this? I think it pries into a person's personal life. Besides, I can't think of anyone who'd answer that truthfully at my school.

(( I wasn't sure whether to put it here or in the Education forum, so yeah. Move it if it's in the wrong place. ))

...So not only are they forcing you to get a date for Valentine's Day, they're also not letting you try for someone you're already interested in?
That's a complete load, and I want you to tell them that, and if they have a problem with it, they can come talk to me here.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Actually, I get those "I-flurtz" things too.

No, Capt, they don't force you to ge a date.

It's just a matching service of some sort.

It's more or less Match.com on paper. My neighbor tried Match.com once, he found someone. The girl ended up only wanting to do anything with him because of his looks. Match.com and all of its kin are worthless, the way I see it.

Well, as I see it, some people like the dating service, some don't. If you don't want to do it, don't take it. And that is one of the risk in taking dating services, people aren't always truthful about their motives, until they finally meet. Because to us we don't see a full picture, just text on the computer or words spoken on the phone.

As for other things in life, You have to remember too that it's just a choice. A very easily avoidable choice.

No, see, we were required to fill it out. We didn't have a choice in the matter on whether we fill it out or not.

We get them every year at our school and it's a fundraiser more than anything. Everyone fills them out, then you cna choose weather or not to pay the 2 bucks, get a quick laugh with your friends (All it's really for), and help out the school.

If you honestly have an issue with it, don't answer truthfully, spoil the bubble sheet, or just put the incorrect name on (like everyone here does.)

You could have just refused. I hardly ever did anything expected of me in school.

Yeah, we had something like that last year, but it was that sort of optional-donate if you want to-thing. Haven't seen it yet this year. Actually, it mighta been later in the year... My friends and I filled them out, but I don't think any of us actually turned them in. Some of the questions didn't seem like they'd do a really good job of helping find "the one." >.> It was fun filling them out at the time, though.

We used to do that sort of thing in high school. Nobody took it seriously as anything other than a technology fund raiser, but it was still amusing to compare lists with everyone, hehe.

If you really don't want it, fill it out and then don't act on it. Or just claim to have forgotten. If they actually take issue with you over not doing it, then you can have them try to convince your parents (if relevant) that they are allowed to make you do this. It won't work, they can't do it. At least, not unless your parents really are as dumb as some people claim their parents are. Which is not very likely.

I decided to go ahead and buy one, just to see how innaccurate it'd be.
Apparently, Carmen Electra is 80 something percent compatible with me.

That whole thing sounds stupid. Like you'd have a good start to the relationship, "Our teachers think we're compatible." Of course, you can always play matchmaker and get two forms and fill it out for friends to hook them up! Whee, play god.

- Chuck Norris
- Han Solo
- Old Maid
- Dr. Sutterland (principal)
- The Rock
- The Edge
- Boo galo
- DietPepsi Machine
- Bloo Regard
- The King

Data match. It's a joke.

Two years ago I entered one as "Silent Bob"... they didn't process my sheet.
