I'd have to agree. You don't want to ask someone out to do something too long in advance, no matter what it is. If you get in a fight between then, not only will you not have someone to go with, but you'll be calling yourself a big loser, knowing that you HAD a date and ****ed it up.

If it's someone you know is likely to receive other invites, maybe up to a month? No longer than that though... A couple of weeks sounds good but if the Prom is THE talk before that, time to consider it then...

If you wait until like a week before, she'll probably have already settled out of fear of going alone. Do it at least a month before.

A month....you guys need time to get good reservations for dinner, get the flowers in order, and if she is someone that you think/know other guys will want to go with you don't want to run the risk of someone asking first. I wouldn't do it any sooner or later than that.

That really depends. Most restaraunt don't need reservations unless it's very fancy, if your going to hire a limo to pick you up, and also, flowers can be selected out of the spot.

But a question I have is when is your prom?

I'd go with three weeks, no less than two. One's cutting it a little close. BTW, they moved our prom up a month. Now it's the last weekend in April. >_> I wish ya good luck!

For the record, I did go to my senior prom with:

1) A hot girl
2) Who isn't related to me
3) Who I didn't have to pay to go with me

Although she was my friend...heh. And she's still my friend, after 6 years since high school. But she was that one girl I went through that little thing with last year. (If anyone remembered or cared. Heh.) But she's still my friend, and I'm happy for that.

Although I forgot how far in advance I asked her... Maybe a month. Jeez, it was almost 6 years ago, now. Stupid time and it's fastness.-jay

Well I've never really thought of this... I reckon if you want to take someone to the prom just ask them whenever you want to.. I'd do it asap so no one else snatches them up. What if you wait heaps long then someone else asks them?

Personally I went with my brother who was like 24 at the time... went with him mainly because I didn't like half the emo's in my class (no offense to emo's). He got a sweet car for us so it was awesome. Came in a done up Valiant. Green exterior, purple interior. Awesome sound system!

Err yeah but there's no harm in asking, right? I don't know why there should be a certain time.
