Gender: Posts: 13,504 Thanks: 908 Thanked 1,537 Times in 739 Posts | Analogies for Relationships This is one I came up with yesterday... Men are like dogs. They're big, hairy, smelly, they drool a lot, none too bright, and on occassion they'll start humping your leg. Their dull, stupid gaze as they pant heavily may seem like a turn-off to some, yet an attraction to others. While they are messy and slobbery, they are also loyal and devoted. Expect them to bark at intruders, rush to your side whenever you're in danger, and lay down in your lap whenever you're feeling alone. All you need to make a man happy is to pat him on the head and throw him a bone. However, some men are rabid and crazy and don't make very good pets. Send them to the pound. Post your own original analogies. |

| Condescending Film Jerk | A woman in her mid-20's or older who still has the "A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle" attitude is like a woman in her mid-20's or older who still plays with Barbie. They both need to grow the **** up. |

Gender: Posts: 6,307 Thanks: 236 Thanked 299 Times in 216 Posts | Well, my favorite one that I made up was one that I made up when I was talking to you, Val. I even elaborated on it and put it in a commencement speech for Public Speaking class. It goes as follows: "Okay, in your life you are constantly building blocks. The higher they are, the more likely they are to fall. When you think your life is going perfectly, they fall. Sometimes only a few fall, sometimes all of them fall. If they all fall, you can just leave them and always have a crappy tower. Or you can rebuild them. Make a new future. Make your tower the best. Sometimes it takes a long time to gain the courage to pick up the blocks. But the good thing about it, is that the blocks are always right in front of you. You can rebuild your life tower whenever you find your strength. The biggest thing is to never sink so low that you are unable to rebuild. Building the tower is hard work. Life is hardwork, but if you keep rebuilding, you will one day look back and see that you learned from your mistakes and you built the best tower that you possibly could. And you'll be proud. That's what life is." It's not really about relationships, more like changes in your life. Oh, well. Last edited by United Nations; 04-20-2007 at 09:37 PM. |
