I'm not into candlelight dinners. They seem for older people, like in their 20s.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't take her to a candlelit dinner. I'm not all "omg i em so rmoantic," and I hardly see the point of it when I'm in friggin high school. Besides, I don't intend to spend a fortune on her. Shini's advice is more what I had in mind, although I don't see the problem with the movies, except maybe for the fact that it's incredibly cliched...

That's the very reason you shouldn't do a movie on the first date. It makes you stand out, makes you look like you're different from all the rest. It may sound ridiculous, but girls appreciate that because it lets them know you're not just some clichéd individual.

Although I've never been on one myself, and this probably wouldn't work very well in a rural area like mine, you could just take her out for a walk around town, and stop at whatever crazy place she points to. (If you choose this, be sure to bring enough cash for several things, since anything could happen on a date like this).

If you live in a more rural area, you could try wandering around in a forest, or, if she's the kind who would like it, paintball! (Then again, if your mother is the kind who wouldn't want you bringing a girl home, then chances are she wouldn't like that idea).

But gee...I don't really do any of that stuff, and the town I live in is one of those crappy ones where nothing ever gets done...oh well...I'll be in college about one 1/2 years from now. But now I'm getting way off topic...anyway, your best bet is to try and figure out what she would LIKE to do, then go ahead and do that. If you don't like it as much, then it's okay, just try something else on your next date!

So basically, as they say, "Paint the town red!"

Yeah, try doing something not so cliche.

BTW Vin, what ever happened? Get to talk to her yet? I'll say it again, good freaking luck.

Damn, no wonder I don't have a girlfriend.

Although seriously, taking her out to lunch or dinner and just chatting is a good idea.-jay
I don't know why, but that cracked me up.

Don't worry, I was planning on doing stuff like that anyway, Shinigami. I mean, we're just kids; I would take her to the mall, go bowling, or just hang out at my house with her. I wanna have fun with her, not bore us both to death. The only time I'd go to dinner with her would be at like prom night or something. And I'll take her to the movies when there are good movies in.

Like I said, all this romantic jazz isn't my style. I'm more of the fun and spontaneous yet incredibly sexy type.

I just got back from the bowling alley... that was fun! Her mom made her bring the exchange students that live at their house, though, and neither of us planned on it. They were nice. I had a blast, even though I lost!

Dates kind of blow. A lot. I'd prefer just spending time. I always liked my gf not being from the area before, because then I could show her all the cool stuff that no one but my friends and I know about, like abandoned houses/bridge undersides.. specific hangouts/good underground parties.

But then, I don't know if you're into those sort of things as much, so who knows.

Doesn't matter if other people were there or not in the long run. If you two say it was a date, it was a date.

Glad things worked out well. ^^

I <3 coffee. But only in small quantities. By small quanitities in that I go through phases where I absolutely love it, and then I hate it for a good while.

If they were into it, going to Barnes and Noble's with their coffee shop and sit-down area to read would be a nice idea too.

Meh, I dun' like coffee that much, but if it was for a girl that I had a thing for, I'd grab a few cream cups, and grin/bear it.
