IT's meeting my girlfriends parents that makes me a little nervous with the dad asking you questions left and right like what are your intensions towards my daughter, because if the parents don;t like you, your screwed and not the way you want to be. |

This is a situation that I....have never been in. ![]() Wrote a play about it once, though. A dude goes to pick up someone for their first date and finds out that her stepdad is his history teacher. And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!" |

| for breakfast?! | OR, you could just meet the girl's parents before you start a relationship with her. This way, when you actually get together with the girl, the parents will know you well (and maybe trust you more), and you can avoid the entire awkward talk with the dad. |

By the time you're in your early to mid 20s, you've established your own self, and the important thing is to be yourself. No one deserves to be lied to or deceived, and parents would just get all sorts of upset if they found out after the fact. That said, the goal is to be someone who is worth dating, which means being equal parts willing to accept their rules and being your own person. |

I recommend women who have parents who will want to give you food. It's great. Also? The most important part about actually meeting them is a reasonable degree of reverence; defer to their opinions, never argue, and be respectful. Maintain your confidence and presence while doing that and you'll be fine. |

Adn her mom definetly liked my older sister, they wanted to hang out and have a couple of drinks. Her step-dad I only met once, and he was cool, funny guy, luckily I've never had to deal with crazy parents. |

I'm not sure if I want to, though. |

They welcomed me right away, besides the fact I've known them since...I was born. I feel bad for ML though because my dad is a big guy with facial hair and a scary squinty face. He's quite intimidating if you don't know him for the teddy bear he really is. I think ML's finally getting used to him. He's not so jumpy after 3 or 4 years of coming over to my house every day. ![]() |

An alcoholic, slightly bi-polar mom, and an ******* step-dad who called me a worthless distraction. I had to try so hard to keep from saying something, because it's in my nature to if pushed, but they would've punished her for it. Even though she was 18. And what is this "What are your intentions toward my daughter" crap? If he's done this before, he should know. As for my parents, I just have to make sure they are Christian or just lie about it. They'll get along with them better then. Maybe. |
