Sacrifices in the name of love!

I'm going to teach myself how to sew in less than twenty hours in order to fix up a small tear on a stuffed white tiger I'm giving to Amy (Crap, I hope she doesn't find out that I use her name. I hardly say that my name is Tyler online, for God's sake!). Boy, I can just feel my testosterone leaking out as I hold a small sewing kit in my lap.

Oh well. I have to say, I'm pretty excited about actually being able to go through with this. First Valentine's Day I'm actually doing something and not just doing wishful thinking. Huzzah!

(I do apologize for how much I'm obsessing over this. It's just so fresh and new to me, like Spring when I can actually enjoy being outside without attempting to commit genocide on an insect population.)

^I think this is so sweet! Honestly, if a stitch was broken in a stuffed animal I was going to give someone, I wouldn't give it a second thought. But the fact that you're fixing it yourself just shows how much you care. Good luck, buddy!

I REALLY want to learn to cook. I think that's an important skill for a man to know if he wants to impress a girl. -CSM

Good luck with sewing! It's a skill even I haven't bothered to try out yet.

And CSM, cooking is easy. And you're one day going to HAVE to learn. College years beckon.

Cooking rocks. It just comes oh-so naturally to me.

I finished working on the leg three hours ago. I had to use my experience from working at the vet clinic for this, which just feels slightly odd. I don't know how well the stitching will hold, but I'm hoping that the way I tied the ends, it should be fine. I mean, it's hardly noticeable even if I look at it.

Granted, I really should be showing my love for her more often, it's just that the one thing about V-Day that I have to admit is good is that it helps set a deadline for some to follow. Once IN a relationship, however, it should just be a kind of holiday. It's been said before, the love shown on Valentine's should be shown every day.

Meh, if you can excuse me for going off topic, but while we're on the conversation about cooking, does anyone here have any awesome methods of cooking hamburgers?! The only hamburgers I rave are restaurant quality ones(whether that's good or bad quality I don't know). It just seems the restaurant ones are filled with flavor. I'm suffering from meat that seems tasteless. But it could be cause my mom buys lean meat (I think 85/15, or vice versa, I forget).

Congratulations on sewing, loot! I love sewing, and understand how fulfilling it can be to fix something or make something well. If you ever want some advice, just ask, and I'll try and explain ^_^()

Hamburgers? Mostly all I can tell you is you can add a tonne of different things to the mince/ground meat. Don't over-salt it. Finely chopped onion (white/brown/yellow) and minced garlic are great for extra flavour, as well as parsley, oregano and chives/spring onion. Premixed spices like a general "season all" are good too, if you like them, or your favourite sauce (BBQ, ketchup, brown sauce, etc) can be mixed in. To hold the meat together so it keeps the shape of the patty when cooked, you can add an egg to the mix if you need.

And yes, lean meat makes it not as tasty. Meat fat = flavour when it's all cooked and juicy. Whee.
