I'm somewhat of a collector (although I do it for the fun of it.. and because I like old games) of older carts and the like. Are you actively searching for anything?

I wouldn't mind having a copy of each of these:
Spiderman & Venom: Maximum Carnage, Mario Kart, Chrono Trigger(in my dreams.. heh), Super Double Dragon, TMNT: Turtles in Time, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Starfox, Top Gear, Bump 'N Jump, Adventures of Lolo, Kirby's Dreamland 3... and I want custom carts with Seiken Densetsu 3, and Terranigma. Illusion of Gaia was pretty fun, although lame, as well..

Seems I've got SNES on the brain, mostly.

Well, for any retro system, I would like to get a copy of Skullmonkeys for the PSX.

For any retro Nintendo system... can't think of any.

The system came out 11 years ago. I'd call it retro. As for most of those games.. My brother has them. I've got my own SNES now, so I'm trying to get all of the games I enjoyed the most that I don't have.

I'll toss Bomberman onto the list, too. F-Zero, as well.

ret·ro
adj.
Involving, relating to, or reminiscent of things past; retrospective: “As is often the case in retro fashion, historical accuracy is somewhat beside the point” (New York Times).

While current "retro" fads may now focus on the 80s, it's a general term. This forum is for the specific discussion of non-current gaming.

Besides, many of my favorite NES games came out after 1990.

PlayStation is retro. Specially when talking 'bout old, classic RPGs (to an extent).

I haven't really given it a thought about collecting games but maybe it's not a bad idea because i'm a video game fanatic at heart and it'd be nice to have those games.

I'm currently on the hunt for the following games for my SNES:

- Stunt Race FX (just brought a copy on eBay this morning)
- Monopoly
- Super Mario RPG (they go for like $75 - 100 on eBay...GRRRR)
- Uniracers
- Joe & Mac
- Rock n' Roll Racing
- The Lost Vikings

There might be more, but right now they are my top wants, esp. The Lost Vikings.

Lost Vikings owns, but stay away from Lost Vikings 2... and ESPECIALLY Norse by Norsewest for the Playstation which is Lost Vikings 2 with sloppy controls and even uglier graphics.

I'm a collector of games also, current and past. That's why I don't sell my games--I collect them. I would sell some of the, well, uncollectable games or games I don't enjoy like FFCC.
I'm really trying to get a deal on Super Metroid, though.

Veeery nice, Knux. Although, I'd rather spruce up the NES, SNES, and classic gameboy side of things

I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove TLV. I had it on PC years ago, in 1992/93ish. I think it was out on PC first.

I just remembered something this morning.

If you want something that's in a similar vein as Lost Vikings but doesn't suck ass, try Blackthorne. A lot of it is reminiscent of Lost Vikings, and it was even made by the same people. It's not as a good as Lost Vikings, but it's not a bad title, and it's helluva better than Lost Vikings 2.

You play as a single realistic and buff man (who's actually an extraterrestrial, though he seems to be just a human from another planet) instead of three cartoony Vikings, and the atmosphere is much darker than TLV.

As with TLV, it was ported to the GBA, but I never played that version. I heard TLV was borderline unplayable on the GBA due to lack of buttons (I can believe it. Earthworm Jim sucked on the GBA due to lack of buttons, though the original Game Boy version was WAY worse), and while I have a Nintendo Power with an ad for it (I bought the NP for the Eon Ticket it came with) I never heard anything about the quality of the GBA Blackthorne.

Unlike TLV, I don't believe there was a Genesis version. If there was, it probably sucked, because TLV is almost unplayable on the Genesis without the six-button controller.

I'm looking for Earthbound, Super Mario World 2:Yoshi's island, Donkey Kong Country 3(if it exists), Star Wars:Return of the Jedi(ANH and ESB came out), F-Zero, Mario is Missing, and other Mario games. If you can point out to where they are, that would be cool.
