I'd say, out of the ones I can remember, choco island 2. The fact that you slide all over the place makes it very hard to drift and its very easy to go off course, plus all the mud and humps makes it very challenging.

Rainbow Road was a pain, obviously. No rails whatsoever and those Thwomps that made you spin when you hit them. My brothers and I used to call them disco thwomps.

Apart from that, it's Donut Plains 3 for me. The way you had to time your jump across the crack in the bridge was very annoying. I remember that we would often struggle to get past this course, and after that you almost certainly got to the Rainbow Road.

I think Vanilla Lake 2. All the ice and blocks messed with me a lot. Other than that, I was really an expert at the game whilst I still played it.

I thought Vanilla Lake was quite easy, especially once you got past the first round. You could take quite a shortcut if you stayed as close to the water as possible and jumped across it at the right times. Of course the hard part was to not go to close where you could not make the jump anymore.

Vanilla Lake from what I remember. It's been a while since I got the SNES out. I remember I never could get past Star Cup. And I never managed to win anything win Donkey kong Jnr. Because he was crap, so I never got to see his awards sequence.

I never beat Star and Special on 150, isn't there some bonus for that?

Vanilla Lake 1 was damn hard. On the other hand, Vanilla Lake 2 was one of my best courses. But the hardest for me was always Rainbow Road. Damn thwomps...

It was the awful controls that killed me on Rainbow Road. I never hit the Thwomps.

Special Cup 150 killed me. It was hard for me to get a decent place on Donut Plains 3, and Rainbow Road was also a pain.
