SNES must haves.

What games do you consider should be in an 'ultimate collection' for the SNES?

I heard Falcon's Revenge was lot better than Battle Clash.

Final Fantasy II. I swear, I often wonder if I'm the only person at VGF who liked that game.

Lost Vikings is an absolute must, although I heard it's missing a few levels from the original PC game. It still runs much smoother and sounds a lot better than the Genesis version.

SNES Lemmings is my favorite version of that game.

Kirby Super Star's the only Kirby game I think I'll ever really like.

Some games I recommend picking up, but not breaking your neck looking for: ActRaiser, Dragon View, Earthworm Jim, Soul Blazer, SWAT Kats, UN Squadron. They're all good games, just not "BUY OR DIE."

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

let's see:
super mario world, super mario world 2: yoshi's island, Megaman X, zelda a link to the past, super metroid, killer instinct, final fantasy 2(IV) and 3(VI), chrono trigger (if you're in america), starwing/starfox, megaman VII, donkey kong country; there's probably more but those are the only ones I can recommend from first hand experience. oh and stay the fuxxorz away from mortal kombat, the original was as boring/annoying as crap.

UMK3 was one of the best fighters to date. StarFox and Mega Man X are definite must-haves. Mega Man 7 wasn't as good as the NES games.

Wow, how did I forget about Mega Man X?

Mega Man X2 and X3 are also worth having. They used to be very expensive, but I think their prices dropped a bit when Mega Man X Collection came out.

DKC3 is a big step down from the prior 2, and not really up to par considering the subject. *shrugs* It was a cheap attempt to cash in on a dying system.

I'd recommend Mario Paint.

The Marios, LttP, 'Super Street Fighter II Turbo', 'Pilotwings', 'Samurai Shodown', 'Earthbound', 'Mystical Ninja', and 'Super R-Type' spring to mind immediately.

Boo is more of an "instant gratification" sort of fellow. I think he just likes to kill stuff in spectacular fashions, mostly.

^Damn skippy--I'll take 'Metal Slug' over 'Metal Gear' any day of the week.

Oh, and as far as 'Super Metroid' goes, it might well be on my list, if I owned it, or had ever even played it. But I haven't. (I never liked the original, so I never bothered with the sequel--reasonable enough.)

Thumbs up

I'd really recommend it for some good firefighting and destructive items. That depends on if you enjoy the exploration aspect of it all, though.

Well, I do like destroying things. Maybe I'll see if I can dig up a copy somewhere. (If it's cheap.) (And if I can stop playing 'Scud the Disposable Assassin' for a few hours.)

Yeah, I've seen a few copies here and there, but if they're in VG only stores, they usually get snatched up fast. Ebay is always a good shot, as well as CD Exchange type places that carry games.
