For example: that SMB3 video made a while back that beat the game in 11 minutes was a TAS. A human didn't play that game, at least not in the strictest sense, but many techniques using an emulator were applied (such as slow-motion and savestates) to get at least what looks like a perfect playthrough. You can learn more and see tons of TASes at the URL above. They're really fun to watch. note: I'm not sure if this was the right forum to post this in, but the majority of the TASes on that site are performed on classic Nintendo systems. |

Everyone seemed to think they were totally legit, when they first came into being. I wasn't too surprised when word finally spread that they were "tool-assisted" runs. |
