Hi,

Today I decided that it was time to hook up my dear old (PAL) Snes. I own more SNES systems but this one was my first one and That' why I stored it to keep it safe.

Now, the problem is that the thing just changed colour! The upper half of the casing looks like it is turning yellow! Or has been in a room with 245 cigar smokers!

Does anybody has an idea on how to clean it? Because it is freaking me out!
My Japanese Super Famicom System still is in good condition, but so was my PAL SNES. Another Snes of mine also has the same problem...

Let me know M'kay?

There's nothing you really can do to clean it, as it's not actually dirty. The problem is that the cheap plastic Nintendo used for the case simply yellows due to age. It seems to be totally random too. Sometimes a system will have its entire top or bottom half yellow, while the other half is still the original color.

My SNES is still its original color all the way around.

Where are these lemmings going? The Super Nintendo Super Shire! Hop in line and follow them there!

Mine too. I haven't heard a good explanation yet of why some do and some don't...perhaps the climate?

My original is like that also, I would try alcohol, or Oxy clean, or something like that, but use Q-tips for it, or something small, and slowly clean it.

I havent actually done that on my old snes, but ive cleaned alot of systems. Just be careful, and hopefully nothing will go awry

guess I should have read the entire page. If its just the plastic aging, I dont know what to do then. But trying a small section using cleaner wouldnt hurt.
