I drove out to a Best Buy somewhat near me because I was bored. Occationally I like to check if there are any new games that slipped under my radar. Nothing. So I was on my way home when I saw a Gamestop that I'd never realized was there before. I stopped in and looked around. As I walked in I grabbed a used GCN/GBA cable so because I'd been wanting to force my friends to play Zelda: FourSwords Adventure with me. Plus it was only two bucks. They had a nice selection, but what really caught my eye was the rack of original GB games. I pick up Kirby's Dream Land and Metriod 2. Both games I've played before, but they belonged to AI, and they kinda moved to Australia with him last year. Finally, my eyes settled on a copy of Donkey Kong Land 2. A friend of mine owned DKL, but it was pretty bad. On the other hand, Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of my favorite platformers of all time. I vaguely remembered an article from an old NP that said DKL2 played more like a stripped down version of DKC2, with different levels. I decided to give it a chance. As I got home, I realized that in the time frame it was released, DKL2 was probably a Super Gameboy game. I dusted off the old super gameboy and slipped it into the SNES. The custom banana frame that loaded confirmed my suspicions. The first thing that hit me was how absolutely, hilariously bad the music was as it screeched what sounded like somebody trying to play the DKC2 title screen music on the keypad of a touchtone phone. After turning down the volume a few notches, I started a file and began playing. Over all, I'm impressed. It plays almost exactly like DKC2 (minus the team attack.) The physics are near perfect. Definately worth the money, and I'll definately be playing it all of the way through. Three good games and a cable, and all for under $20. Awesome. So, anybody else have a good shopping experiance? Ever get lucky and find something you've been looking for? ![]() |

Great memories of playing Link's Awakening on there. Well, my one unexpected shopping experience was actually at a Gamestop in Texas. We went in to kill time and ended up coming out with some sweet keychains and the awesomeness that is Earthworm Jim 2. |

I think just last week, I found the multi-pack of Neverwinter Nights (PC Game similar to Diablo or Baldur's Gate: DA) plus its two expansions. People don't collect used PC games like they do console games, so I seem to have more luck with them - they're also usually much cheaper than console games around here. |

Which was weird, because it was an Office Max/Staples. =/ |

I have Pokemon Diamond, yes I know it's doesn't sound like a rare game. However I've had this version of Diamond for three years now. It's actually I cheap rip off of a game called Telefang (something like that), it's pretty good, however you can't save. |

Still need to find a monitor somewhere though... Videogame wise...I would say when I went to Gamestop and they were having their gamer days with big discounts, so I got a couple ps2 and GC games for cheap and a air coolent system for the GC for 10 bucks, glows too. |

You don't need any special monitor, though - it can hook up to basically any television through the standard A/V jacks. |

I've heard of lots of pirated games being packaged to look like popular ones, so it's none too surprising. |

I did end up getting Pokemon Pearl without knowing what to buy when it came out. Same with Megaman Battle Chip Challenge. |
