I'm Loot and I suck at Castlevania games.

Big time. I'm having difficulty on Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles. I keep dying on the 2.5D remake of Rondo of Blood, I die even SOONER on the original version of Rondo of Blood, and somehow I've died at least three times in Symphony of the Night and I've only beaten the doppelganger.

But it doesn't stop there! I've never been able to beat the fourth stage of the first Castlevania game, I couldn't even get past the first part of the second stage in Castlevania Adventures, I haven't gotten to the third stage yet in Super Castlevania 4, I haven't even beaten the first level in Castlevania 3!

WHY DO YOU HATE ME, KONAMI?!!

I hate to say it dude, but you just need practice.

Play some Ninja Gaiden or Little Nemo for a few weeks and maybe you'll have enough practice with timing that you'll do all right in something easier like Castlevania.

To be fair, the DS games are easier than the older games.

Well, I'm getting better.

I'm getting pretty far in Symphony of the Night. I just got Form of Bat and some other goodies, like ZOMGYOURGOINGTOOFAST Wolf power and dem Gravity Boots. Rondo of Blood I'm at the sixth stage after dying at least six times to Death. Super Castlevania IV I believe I'm up to stage four and I don't think I've died on my current playthrough.

Now, Castlevania 2, on the otherhand, hoooooo boy... I actually died in town on my first playthrough thanks to those bottomless gutters.

^ He's saying he prefers 1 to 2.

I've gotta admit, I'm not very fond of the earlier games. I'd love to play 3, though. Hard to find - makes it all the more desirable.

^This week's VC update has come to the rescue. 3 is a great blend of 1 and 2. It takes most of it's core gameplay from 1, but it contains branching paths and is therefore closer to 2 in terms of content. But where it really surpasses its predecessors is in the departments of replayability, including 4 distinct playable characters, and in music, not at all an easy feat. Very highly reccomended

You want bad?

Never. Completed. A Castlevania game.

Has to be said I did better in the N64 ones than I ever did in any of the 2D ones I owned. I totally suck, and I can totally admit it.

I meant I wanted it for the NES in cartridge format. The VC is nice, but it's kind of the same for me with owning a real copy of an album instead of just mp3 files or something. Besides, I love manuals.
