I also in the past year or two bought a copy of Chiller, the unlicensed 2-player game for the NES Zapper. It came complete with case and manual in very good condition, as well as a pamplet advertising other games released by H.E.S. - the only thing missing from the set was the dongle you're supposed to use to hookup the game, to piggyback the 10NES lockout chip from another cart.

At first, I just used a Game Genie (which I also bought locally - woot for gametraders) to get around the lack of a dongle - the game genie itself overrides the need for a lockout chip with its own. Later on, after buying more local PAL games, I decided to take a risk and disconnect the pin on the 10NES chip in my NES, to stop it preventing my NTSC NES from running PAL games.

The top-loading NES 2 was never sold with a region control mechanism, and I briefly considered buying one online, but decided Ebay prices were too high for something I essentially already owned.

A bit later on I scored a multi-cart, also made by HES, which actually has Chiller on it again. I haven't gotten the 2-player to work on it, but all of the games are functional to my knowledge.

I found FF7 at a flea market, but I don't know if that counts.

Um... Oh, Legend of Zelda original.

I, uh... I do admit I've got a copy of FF7 floating around, although I don't have a PSX. It belonged to a friend of mine, but I think he's forgotten about it. I'll probably get FF8 and 9 if I see them. They do crop up from time to time...

Felt like relating that little tidbit.

well if somari is that sonic clone for the nes whit mario in it, it would have some "underground" valvue, then legend of zelda is a sure bet as other Nintendo games (they are comon but they should be whit any NES game).

i have some more stuff i allso have found, i have been given a guitar from 1955-1960 somewhere round there from Levin i think it have some good value and allso a copy only yesterday of the fiddler on the roof.

SNES games:
Super Mario World
Super Mario All-Stars with Super Mario World
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country 2
NBA Jam
Home Improvement
Super Mario RPG
Star Fox
Kirby's Avalanche
Kirby Super Star
LoZ: A Link to the Past

Genesis:
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic 2
Sonic 3
Sonic & Knuckles
Knuckle's Chaotix
Sonic CD
Sonic 3D Blast
Sonic 2 Beta
Rockman X3
Some Japanese racing game

SMAS+SMW, SMRPG, KSS, LttP, and Sonic CD are certainly the gems of my collection. Home Improvement, Star Fox, Sonic 3D Blast, and Knuckles Chaotix are collectible because they are hard to come by. Sonic 2 Beta and Rockman X3 are uber-rare, simply because they are unlicensed.

Guys, I'd rather you not turn this into a games-list topic. Go ahead and make one of those if you want, no one's stopping you.

This topic's subject was "What's the rarest retro thing you've found locally?", not "How many rare games do you own?"

Rarest game I've seen has been Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for PS2. I think it was over $100.
