Seems a bit wordy, but basically, of all the retro things you can think of (N64 and back), what's the rarest thing you've found, offline? This Christmas, I was ecstatic to discover a SNES in the window of a (slightly) local Gamestation. The last time I even saw a SNES for sale was in 2003, and the thing was broken. What little gems have you discovered, in a store, in a boot sale, or hiding in storage somewhere forgotten for decades? |

At that time I already had just Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (two cartridges, in fact), so I figured it wasn't worth the buy (plus, there was no Power Pad in sight, which was necessary for WCTM). But man, I remember that game. Way before Wii Fit, I was running miles in that game. |

But otherwise, if I could tally up my mental stock of 'consoles I've seen in a Gamestation/CEX window', there would be a wealth of XBox, a good few 360s, plenty of Wiis now, a steady amount of N64s, PSXs only a little more often, and even the odd NES crop-up (I do see SEGA systems as well, but they're getting rarer). The SNES, I've probably seen about... 3 since 2002, and one of those was in a pawn shop, and it was busted. Other rarities would be like the PAL Paper Mario (it was sold so late into the N64's life that there aren't actually many copies available, and you'd be lucky to see it in a shop), SSB original, Zelda 2 (oddly XP)... and mind's having trouble thinking up other examples. But strangely SNES games aren't as rare as the console. That said, NES isn't as rare, somehow. Although, of course, there are the super-rare games that come with it. ![]() MC: *whistles* That is pretty awesome. ![]() Magna: O_O I've... never even seen/heard of that thing. Is it... Is it as creepy as it looks?... |

He eventually had to sell them because my mom hates video games. Also, I saw the original Metroid and Legend of Zelda at a local game store called Play n' Trade. LOL, I also found a copy of Mario is Missing! |

I also flipped through a 1994 issue of Nintendo Power, the Super Game Boy Player's Guide, and a Strategy Guide for Ocarina of Time. EDIT: Woah, post of the beast! |
