What's the rarest thing you've ever found locally?

Seems a bit wordy, but basically, of all the retro things you can think of (N64 and back), what's the rarest thing you've found, offline?

This Christmas, I was ecstatic to discover a SNES in the window of a (slightly) local Gamestation. The last time I even saw a SNES for sale was in 2003, and the thing was broken.

What little gems have you discovered, in a store, in a boot sale, or hiding in storage somewhere forgotten for decades?

Not too long ago, I actually came across an old NES cartridge for Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt/World Class Track Meet. At that time I already had just Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt (two cartridges, in fact), so I figured it wasn't worth the buy (plus, there was no Power Pad in sight, which was necessary for WCTM).

But man, I remember that game. Way before Wii Fit, I was running miles in that game.

I found a NES console that i think was below 100 bucks fully working and one controler, working just fine whit some stickers, people dont know what they sell.

IN other stuff i found a Hammond B3 for around 2550 Dollars, pretty worn and far from working but still a B3.

Commodore 64, which I bought for $10. Space bar is crappy, but still an awesome piece of machinery.

Found an Atari 2600 in my cousin's closet. Haven't opened the games box yet.

ALSO an original Lunar Lander arcade cabinet is currently sitting in my garage (recieved from an uncle who moved, for storage mostly).

Along with many other games I found out my uncle has.

eBay's one thing, but it's also an expensive route to take, and I don't even know if they sell the PAL version very often. But otherwise, if I could tally up my mental stock of 'consoles I've seen in a Gamestation/CEX window', there would be a wealth of XBox, a good few 360s, plenty of Wiis now, a steady amount of N64s, PSXs only a little more often, and even the odd NES crop-up (I do see SEGA systems as well, but they're getting rarer). The SNES, I've probably seen about... 3 since 2002, and one of those was in a pawn shop, and it was busted.

Other rarities would be like the PAL Paper Mario (it was sold so late into the N64's life that there aren't actually many copies available, and you'd be lucky to see it in a shop), SSB original, Zelda 2 (oddly XP)... and mind's having trouble thinking up other examples. But strangely SNES games aren't as rare as the console. That said, NES isn't as rare, somehow. Although, of course, there are the super-rare games that come with it.

MC: *whistles* That is pretty awesome.

Magna: O_O I've... never even seen/heard of that thing. Is it... Is it as creepy as it looks?...

My dad used to have a NES, SNES, Dreamcast, PSone, and a Sega Genisis, as well as a crapload of games. He eventually had to sell them because my mom hates video games. Also, I saw the original Metroid and Legend of Zelda at a local game store called Play n' Trade. LOL, I also found a copy of Mario is Missing!

I actually have a Play N' Trade about 5 minutes away from my house that I recently checked out. Much to my surprise they had some NES/SNES/Atari/ and N64 games. Among them, they had Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3 with their original boxes and everything. Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox, Tetris Attack, and a few other SNES games, a bunch of Atari games, and although it's not Nintendo, 2 copies of Final Fantasy IX which surprised the hell out of me.

A few months back, at the indoor flea market nearby, I found a couple of NES games, some SNES games (including F-Zero, which I bought), as well as some Game Boy titles, such as Metroid II and Game & Watch Gallery.
I also flipped through a 1994 issue of Nintendo Power, the Super Game Boy Player's Guide, and a Strategy Guide for Ocarina of Time.

EDIT: Woah, post of the beast!
