I just recently found my GCN games and all. MegaMan: Complete MegaMan2: Complete MegaMan3: Complete MegaMan4: Complete MegaMan5: Complete MegaMan6: Complete MegaMan7: Complete MegaMan8: Complete MegaMan9: Complete PowerBattle: Complete PowerFighters: Complete X: Complete X2: Complete GOOD END X3: Complete GOOD END X4: CompleteZX X5: CompleteZX X6: CompleteX BattleAndChase: Incomplete, don't yell Command Mission: After-Game So, this should be fun. Unfortunately, I do not have X7 or X8, which makes the play-through a little incomplete. I'll give thoughts on each game upon completion. I decided to leave out the ZX games because I've played through them recently. I do not have copies of any Legends or Zero games, additionally. Currently on MM1, as you can see. Update: MM1 completed. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It didn't seem to give me much trouble at any part, though. Additionally, I found the levels to be strangely short. Overall, a good game to kick off a series, and a good game to model off and improve off of. Last edited by X-3; 06-16-2009 at 07:27 PM. |

I should have made this a personal journey rather then a topic, but too late now. IMO: 2>3>5>7=9>4>1>8>6 |

I was in GameStop the other day and saw that they were selling the Mega Man Anniversary Collection disc for both the PS2 and GameCube. I was sorely tempted, but had no money... ![]() |

I don't know what it was, but I found myself yawning half of the time I was playing it. Plot was also lame what with EVIL ENERGY, made worse by the voice acting. (I SENSE THEY MUST BE. IN THAT TOWER. BUT.) This is the best fortress music. And here's something I found. oh, and I guess I should "sum up" my thoughts on each game played so far. WORKING ON IT. MegaMan1: I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It didn't seem to give me much trouble at any part, save IceMan's stage, but that was more because of those DAMN PENGUINS. Additionally, I found the levels to be strangely short. Overall, a good game to kick off a series, and a good game to model off and improve off of. MegaMan2: Excellent game. It took what 1 had and made it better. Stronger. Faster. (latter in the case of QuickMan) I also found it somewhat harder: for example, that fortress boss with the orbs and the walls gave me problems, mainly because the hall before it always left me in low health. Also, you lose E-Tanks when you die. Overall, an excellent game. MegaMan3: Another great game. While it was much easier than 2 overall, it still had it's "hard" parts. Like DocQuick. Damn him. That reminds me, thee DocBots were a fun idea: sort of another fortress, only less annoying. Music was memorable at times, but some tracks weren't great. Overall, an excellent game. MegaMan 4: A good game. It was really easy, save some of the bosses. (keep in mind I suck at these games, though) The "twist" with Cossack was sort of nice, seeing as this was before this type of thing got silly with Mr. X. It's hard to say why it's lower on the list: some of it just wasn't fun for me. Hard to explain. A good game, but not as good as 2 and 3. MegaMan 5: Surprisingly, a great game. I found it relatively challenging at times. While it did not do anything particularly new for the series, what it did do was good. Additionally, I found myself having a lot of fun at times like during the boss battls. Overall, a great game. MegaMan 6: Lame game. Ridiculously easy. Not much fun at all. Order was easy to predict, as strange as that may sound. Suits weren't very good at all, and I preferred running around in Normal. Plot got ridiculous, and there was no reason for 2 fortresses this tim, especially considering they were owned by the same guy. Overall, I didn't enjoy it much. MegaMan 7: Good game. I found it's challenge medium-ish: some parts were hard, but overall it was not very hard. Some bosses gave me trouble, though. I liked the amount of items you could collect, strangely enough. I found some of the tracks pretty good. However, letting the player only tackle 4 bosses at a time was a stupid idea, as was making each 4 their own little circle. Overall, a good game. MegaMan 8: Lame game. Did not find it much fun at all. It had some good tracks, but many were not very good. The voice acting ended up doing more harm than good, and many of the bosses were pathetically easy. (these two are actually related: I'M LOOKING AT YOU FROST AND AQUA MAN) I did, however, like the ability to buy and equip items to change your abilities. Most of the difficulty was drawn from stupid ****, like that snowboard. Also, they used the 4 bosses at a time thing again. Overall, I didn't enjoy it much. MegaMan 9: Good game. It had good music, though many tracks only served to irritate. The difficulty was present, much more so then some of the games before it. Plot was dumb, but considering the theme of the game, that was probably intentional. I had fun playing it. I'm not too fond of the NES-graphics, though. I was a dissident back when they were first shown, and I still would have liked them to try something new rather than cling to the past. Or something. They got rid of the 4 bosses at a time thing, which was good. Overall, a good game. X series will come when I *mostly* finish it. Last edited by X-3; 06-07-2009 at 01:56 PM. | ||||

The plan with these 3 are to beat them with both characters. X4 will obviously be played twice, while X5 does not have to. X6 I'm not sure if the health stays the same for both X and Zero. We'll have to see. On a related note, Zero is fun. I like dashing around while slashing and...clashing? His voice is also not as bad during combat. Surprisingly, I do not find his "HOOHAHHOO" thing to be terribly annoying. Also, I just noticed I put "X" and then "X1" on the list. I felt pretty pathetic, reading that. Also also, expect lists when I finish this thing. (ie: Best battles, best games, best music, best enemies, best moments) |

(and I really liked the X series) Of course, I'm actually a sucker for their cornball stories, so that might be part of it. >_> I can give you my opinion on each of them, if you'd like. |

Zero is harder than X by a long-shot, tbh. Final boss is an example: X can just Ground Hunter the ground-head thing, Zero really can't reach it so easily. (then again, as X he didn't use that debris attack once, I'm just lucky) There's also the fact that Zero doesn't have weapons so much as technqiues, which leaves some bosses without weaknesses, like Dragoon or Beast. X also has that armor. Yeah. It's a great game, and probably my favorite X game I've played through yet. Up next is X5, and I will start that with Zero. Last edited by X-3; 06-10-2009 at 11:19 AM. |
