It's Japanese counterpart (Ouendan) got a sequel (although they really liked the Westernized version, too), so why can't this version? (Perhaps I overdid the parentheses?) |

The concept would've been better if it were Starfox 2 instead. I can only agree with the "TERRIBLE controls" part, really. Controls equate to gameplay most of the time, but if I can still enjoy Phantom Hourglass despite being unable to move with the D-Pad, there's no reason this game can't be enjoyable. There's a difference between high standards and silly ones. Guess which ones are yours. |

My main problem with Command is the gameplay. I like the StarFox 64 type stuff, not the ordering your ships into battle through turns. |

The concept was fine, though. A bit dated, but would've been good if Nintendo hadn't stayed on the fence over making an action game or a tactical game. Last edited by the Octopus; 09-19-2009 at 12:39 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Instinct. I'll also second the cries for another F-Zero game. Please Nintendo, for the love of god, just let us use the classic controller on it. I hate the mindset that because it has a special controller, everything has to use it. I'll die if they make me use a Motion Plus Wiimote and Nunchuck combination, or do something stupid like use a Balance Board for the accelerator and brake pedals. I would really like to see a Phoenix Wright game that explains what exactly happens in the 7 years between Trials and Apollo Justice. The new Miles Edgeworth game might do that, but until it comes out, I guess we won't know. Speaking of games that bridge gaps, I'd like to see Capcom do an official game explaining the transition from MegaMan to MegaMan X. Give it more storyline than the end of the Power Battles had. Battletoads Vs Double Dragon. Super Mario RPG 2. Yes, with Geno. ![]() PaRappa The Rapper needs to come back and show all these so-called 'Rhythm' games how it's done. DJ Hero? Eat your freaking heart out. |

Since these characters are somewhat obscure, I thought maybe some other obscure titles may make a return. Earthworm Jim, Vectorman, and SCUMM would all be things I'd be interested in seeing return. |

Plus, just because a game becomes something else doesn't matter the original game can't be brought back. This (in a more unfortunate sense) happened with Starfox 2. Yeah, the game definately could've been better, but last I checked, Rare didn't make Command.

If I hated everything with not good enough graphics, I would have abandoned Nintendo like all those other 360 fan-boys. People like those aren't smart enough to see the awesomeness in Metroid Prime and Zelda. Last edited by 1-up Salesman; 10-10-2009 at 07:16 PM. |

Basing your preferences off of what games appear to take the most advantage of features in a technologically advanced system means you're ignoring most of the artistic design and gameplay. Quote:
Besides, what about the concept of spiritual succession? Zelda II was the sequel to LoZ, but Nintendo still fell back on the original game for LttP. Mega Man 9 was a direct sequel to the NES-style series, with 7, 8, MM&B; X-X8, MMZ, and MMZX breaking the mold in between. Developers have a history of rethinking series, especially in reference to their roots. New Super Mario Bros., for instance, is a hearkening back to the very first Super Mario Bros, more than anything since then, and certainly isn't a sequel to the Super Mario 64 lineage. Same with the direct sequel to Yoshi's Island on the DS, with Yoshi Story in the duo's midst. Last edited by the Octopus; 10-12-2009 at 08:27 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Paper Mario is more of a "spiritual successor" to Super Mario RPG. |
